Sounds good. I'll text you towards the end of the week. Thanks!

I am glad the mold is being saved, as a potential future customer! Good luck in the deer woods, Michael.

Hey Sailor, where are you in Central Jersey? I’ll be in Monmouth County for Christmas. 60’s and 70’s next week in NC!?!

Michael.

I live in Spotswood (between East Brunswick and Monroe) so not far from Monmouth County at all. about 20 minutes to Marlboro, for instance.

2021 SeaFari Hermco Splashwell Mold

Member UncleBoo, Martin of Eastern North Carolina, has purchased the “Blank Canvas”, 1976 SeaFari 20 I/O project. He is not in a rush for delivery from SC, but has agreed to return the mold to me as he has not used it. She is still as mint as the day I gave it to him. The boat builders are so busy up his way that he never had a chance to pop one.

SO, once again I am looking for a new home for the mold. I have no intentions of selling it, but want to see it go to someone on this site to store it, and possibly build units for future members. Any suggestions? First right should go to BigShrimpin who had original interest in it three years ago. I have zero plans of heading north this winter, but I can store it for awhile. Thanks.

I can find room in a shed in Chas SC to store it if need be.

If storage is needed I can store it here in Miami

And just throwing it out there I have a original splash well for a 1978 Master Angler 20 that someone could pop a mold out of it

Very cool! Old’sCool, we are overdue to have meet and have a beer together. My garage is pretty much climate controlled, more or less. Great wine cellar. Haha.

Jorge, that’s cool also. I really like mine but would like to enclose it fully with a bait station over top. Like the Conch. There was a member here a couple of years ago that built a mold to lay up just what we have. I’m not sure if he popped one for himself or not.

I was hoping to find a member in maybe central Florida who has a large interest in keeping this alive.

confused here...so who ended up with it?

Vezo, Part II 01-11-2021 01:30 PM

It’s currently in Eastern NC and I will be getting it back. Looking for a new home for it where it can possibly be used again.

I made a Master Angler mold. Kind of a crappy splash mold, but it worked. Divinycell foam core, twill carbon with uni plies in the center.

I am still trimming.

I may make one more and then see who wants a mold. It's vinylester epoxy and glass. It's rough.

It weighs 8 lbs. The old one was flat (pictured) weighs a lot more and the 20" outboard will tilt into it.

As many of you know, I was able, with assistance of another member, to acquire Don’s original mold about a year and a half ago. I have assisted in building nine Jersey Speed Skiffs from a mold that was 75% the condition of this mold. It is as new. When I offered to pop one for another member, my two sources estimated $500. When able to speak with Don, he laughed, and said he did it as a favor with fiberglass scraps and usually for about $200! It is now stored in climate control, but will lose that spot come spring. I’m wondering which member would most benefit from this and be willing to produce a few more if requested. What do you all think? Going to attach a photo of the mold, and a photo of finished product.

Thanks in advance.

Vezo

I’m interested :

What do you want for it ?

SailorChlud 06-17-2021 01:59 PM

I would be interested in purchasing a splashwell if anyone decides to make a few....
