On the spray rails they were in bad shape a lot of the grain was eroded pretty deep and alot of chips or gouged. They have already been glassed over. The vents also have already been filled in. Figured with the outboard they were no longer needed.

Starting to fit the console so rigging tubes can get cut out. Also cap set back on so the rear bulkhead can be fabricated.

I was thinking about that but decided to run the 2 tubes along the original trough. There are removable elbows so when I lift the hatch for the tank they could be pulled off and the tank can be removed. Don’t know why I was so worried about it with a 2 year old tank in the boat but oh well. Whoever ends up with this boat 40 years from now will have a semi easy tank removal lol.

Here’s 1-100 and 1-30 gl. Tanks along with the 1 1/4 “ tubes in one picture and some of the cables pulled to the center console
|
I see how you rigged that now. I think I will stay my way as I am making the back boxes removable. I can reach my rigging tubes from those holes most of my electric pumps will be near the transom.

My 74 has the last few characters of the HIN scribbled on the back of the cap and this note about rigging on the bow. |
Thanks for the compliment. I can’t wait for it to get done. Funny how they made notes on the parts 45 years ago

Man the hull looks great in that color!

Thanks I like it a lot. I am thinking to go with white bottom paint. Should look good

Quick run back to the shop gives us console and leaning post. Wife didn’t like that I quit cutting grass to go. Lol. Just some things have a higher priority.
|
Looking real good brother. Glad you got priorities right too. Love that flag blue color. I went with largo blue but flag was very close for me.

Starting to cut holes. Man I hate to cut up nice shiny new stuff. Anyway here goes. GPS’s are cut out and in place. Steering is in place. (Tilt steering mind ya) the 2 bilge pumps are plumbed one out each side. The baitwell drain goes out one side and the overflow the opposite. Fresh and salt water pumps are plumbed also. The thru hulls are still 5 inches above the floor but I needed to get under the rear corner boxes with the hoses. You can also see that the boxes are now removable. Makes rigging a lot nicer than a pie eye. Until the next update

One step closer. Motor is hung and most of the wiring is pulled. Can’t believe everything you need to rig a Verado.
