If there is enough interest I can bring a cooker to either fry fish or steam clams. I have fried a bunch of fish lately so I'm leaning towards steaming some clams. If there is enough interest I will make a run to Cedar Key and grab a bag of 100 for anyone who wants some. They are $20 a bag for the best clams you could ever want. Let me know and I'll make the run a day two before the gathering.

My Top Spot chart shows ~1' depth around Dutchman although I see a small 4' hole off the north end, surrounded by a lot of thin 6"-12" water! Would have to find it in daytime . . .might have to wade to it!

im so stoked that there is this much interest in my first gathering i plan to make after many years !!!! i am still hoping i can bring our baby with us !! but DonV offered up a ride on his 23 just in case so i wouldn't have to ride up in a Borrowed Hydra Sport ...lol

Moose Clams sound great !!! little garlic butter on the side and then a sack of Beer steamed oysters after the clams ... MMMMMM
I am hoping we get to leave early fri morn or even after the wife gets off on thur so we can get on down there !!

Denny Denny Denny, I'll take and show you the way in, from the north once over the outside flat its 3-4' back behind the island. I'll show you in the day time in case you need to go back there. South side is very skinny, I haven't been back there much.

Reminder - make sure you have enough track space on your GPS's as this will be new water and it gets very very dark - hence the excellent star gazing

I am in for some clams :D

Hey Moose......put me in for a bag of clams!!! :)

kmoose 10-02-2013 02:01 PM

That is two bags so far. Anyone else?
They are farm raised and really good size if I ask for them. I will call the "Clam House" in advance to make sure they are available and ready to go for that weekend. If we order enough they may give us a break on the price but it's a great deal as it is. Hooters gets 45 cents a clam. Read into that whatever you want.... :D

Not much - the north bar is the saturday target, there will be guys staying on boats but I don't think anyone is tent camping.

we'll post some cell phones so everybody can find each other

Mr. Moose, that $.45 per clam at Hooters also includes the cute fanny hanging out the bottom of the orange shorts. That's the difference in price. :)
