What's your power, Steve? What rpms are you turning with the Mirage? What's your trim at speed? If a sterndrive, can you ventilate with trim only (no trailer tilt) in calm water? If you've got an outboard, there's a whole list of questions I'd ask before suggesting a prop.

I know Jerry at AAA doesn't have any Revo props. Most of what he stocks new is in the 22-27 pitch range for bass boat applications. AAA Outboard is essentially a non-stocking dealer. He gets new motors overnight, so no floor plan interest payments, and he stocks new props in High performance bass boat stuff only. (The owner is also a semi-pro bass fisherman.) SO no promises as to what, but I'll bring as much as I can that's worth bringing. I will also try to bring 2 or 3 small-hub props with thrust washers and Merc style locking bushings for 90-140 hp motors. (These can be used on Zukes and Yammies this way. Sorry, no BRP or Honda as I think they have a different spline system)

PS, got my motor back friday. New TPS, new coil, new plugs, NO CHARGE - under warranty. Yay!

Fr Frank, I have a Mercruiser TRS drive so it uses the regular Merc V6 prop. My Rpm’s are right where I want them which is 4900-4950. I want to keep the RPM under 5000 as this engine has the cast crank and non forged pistons however with the cam that is in it, it would love to run up to 5200-5500 it's just the bottom end wouldn't like it. I can trim it slightly then the boats starts to porpoise and the more you trim the more it porpoises so I stop trimming when it just starts to porpoise. I'm wanting something to give me more stern lift, the revolution four was recommended on offshoreonly.com

The Revo is a very nice prop. But believe it or not, on a TRS drive, running offshore, I'd probably reccomend a 3 or 4 blade thru-hub cleaver or near cleaver style prop like the early Yamaha SWS series. The straight back edge on these props, with heavy cupping provides a lot of sternlift. I'll look in Jerry's collection of used SS props in the back room to see what he has.

The downside to cleaver props is a lot of cavitation during accelleration. But for running offshore in your powerband they're very hard to beat, because if you ventilate them hard, (ie; get airborne) they shed the excess air off the blade and bite hard quickly upon re-entry. But if you run hard in a steep swell (short wave period) where you get air a lot, you really need to know how to work the throttle.

Cool, sounds like a plan. I don't air the boat because it has the MERCTRANS II and not the beefier Borg Warner Trans. From what I can tell the Trans and outdrive are original 1978 and I'm fairly sure that it was originally behind a 250HP small block Chevy. Also I want something with very little slippage. Right now I'm around 10% which seems to be good for a heavy "V" bottom and the drive running deep.

Also Boatpix.com is scheduled for 11:00 am Saturday.
The plan is to run out Sebastian Inlet one at time and
the Helicopter will take several angled shots of your
boat as it is passing out the Inlet.
They will contact you after the event if you would like to purchase any of the photos taken. I'm trying to have them take one of Long Point while we are still at anchor.
For those that are local please try to bring a few extra
folding chairs. When I get there Friday I will hang the
banner at the pavilion and try to reserve it for Saturday
night..
Bring what food you would like to share for the BBQ.
Charcoal will be helpfull to get as many grills going as we can. Of course it is BYOB.. :rolleyes:

There will be several Fishing magazines taking photos and
feature articles about us!!

High tide will be 2:00pm Friday and 3:00pm Sat.
Snook fishing on the outgoing after dark maybe good
at the end of the tide. There are still Manta Rays
around which will hold Cobia just offshore...
This will go down in history as the best CSC gathering..

Just north of the inlet bridge (apx. 1 mile) is Whitey's B&T. Open at 5:30 am.

It is on the west side, make a u-turn in the TOP of the parking lot and park on the south shoulder. Do not go down, it's tough to get back up w/ a larger boat.

Just finished 20MA. Can't Wait!
