Progress has been Slow but sure over the last several weeks. A milestone was getting both fuel tanks finally
installed. I needed to make some modifications to the the bulk head where the fuel lines ran through in order to keep a gradual slope dowanward to the tanks.

Tanks in place. Eack tank has an antisiphon valve. The tanks are bonded to their respective fuel fills, bonded to each other and bonded to the engine block.

There are two cabinets. The one on the starboard side simply has a storage area underneath while the one on the
port side has a lift up door that houses a porto potti. I still have some finish trim to install here and there on
the cabinets.

Fancy gucci steering wheel. It's made in Italy and was on sale for $64.00 I went to a local wrecking yard and purchased an old Morse control. I like the look, feel and simplicity of it.

BEAUTIFUL work Strick! That's gonna be a GREAT fishing AND cruising rig! I see you have one spare hole in the instrument panel - might want to consider putting a vacuum gage there. It can tell you a lot about engine performance!

Tucker- I'm gonna use the hell out of it. Hopfully this Fall I will christen the deck with some blood. :D

Denny- The extra hole is for the other fuel gauge. I will probably install a vacuum gauge at some point if I like the way the IO handles and services. If it gives me trouble then off it goes as an artifical reef and a bracket with twins will take it's place. I was going to try and find that thred were you were discussing vacuum with Conner.

Strick,

You could use a 3-position switch on the senders and then read both tanks with the same gage . . . would save drilling a hole for another gage! :cool:

Beautiful Doc,
When you first mentioned painting her grey, I had impure thoughts. It is nothing close to what I had pictured in my mind. Very tasteful and subtle. Somehow it makes her seem as if she`s in the water.

I forgot to mention that I think you will have trouble changing the handles on the ball valves. Can you rotate them for better access or is there no room?

Who made the all bronze seacock?

I`m just finishing up a plug for a mold. It`s for another Flintstone idea of mine. Small part for fishing. Had I not gotten the sickness, I would not have had the trail of bread crumbs for inspiration. Thanks a bunch for the time you spent documenting your travails.

Man I hate how they leave debris in tanks! This cost me big time on mine. Good move taking the time to look @ it 1st.

What will the boat be named? That transom needs a name :D

Sandy thanks for the nice comments. The color grows on you. When she said to paint it that color I thought it might come out looking like a PT boat. The seacock is a "Groco". The bronze thru hulls are difficult to reach but dooable. You mentioned changing the handles? There just is no room on this boat. If I would had made her a bracketed outboard then I would have had space up the wazoo

John- Lisa said to name it "Widow Maker" but for now she will remain nameless. Just ask Bigshrimpin about aluminun shavings in gas tanks. Hopfully they are good to go now.
