Well unfortunately the Surveyor found a lot of pretty major issues today, transom delamination, moisture in transom, floors, fuel tank sitting in water. So I continue the search

Re: Value 23 CC

I have no idea what the market place is up there, but here in Florida, between the hurricanes, the winter-time, and whatever, it's a buyers marketplace. I have looked at 3 boats in the last month for under 6K. 2 20's and a 23. 2 had newer motors on them with less than 200 hours. I think in another month or 2 there will be more on the market.

As far as condition, unless they have been restored, all of the ones I have looked at have wet hatches and transoms. I use a pretty good moisture meter, and it seems to go with the territory in a wood transom that is over 20 years old.

Hope you find the one your looking for.

Sure
The boat was an 81 23' CC twin 150 Rudes runs but down on compression in a cylinder, the other has a blown cylinder, T top, leaning post, 1980 Aluminum bunk trailer that has only been used to launch and load 3-4 times a year, the boat was described as an 8 out of 10 for hull sides and bottom, and a 4 for the inside. It was listed on the boat trader for 8K if you need any more info feel free to shoot me a message also will have the written survey report in a few days. Did I miss anything

JohnB maybe you can share the details of the 23 you have found?? I am not afraid of a wet transom it is the fact that people want 8K for problem boats! For 8K and no power I would expect to get a decent boat that could use some elbow grease. Of course I am speaking in terms of older boats

Is this the one with the Single spreader Outriggers?

The 23 was a CSY Sceptre, the 20s were potter SF ccs.
It appears you are looking for a 23' Potter CC, so I guess it wouldn't fit. If I see anything I will PM you.

IMHO, on the restored 23's, they aren't getting what their asking for them, because most of the pricier ones are still for sale in Florida. I am looking for a CSY or Tracker 23' if you come across one. Either a rebuildable CC, or a cheap Sceptre, dosen't matter, I am going to redo it.

Re: Value 23 CC

After having my 20 for 8 months and having to do a paint job and other things to it ( I redid the transon 5 months ago) I may just look for a 23 and go thru the efforts on that instead of the 20.

I saw a real nice 23 that the outside is a 10 the inside (floor) is a 6 no softs spots but a real lame job on the paint. He claims to have redone the tarnson and it looks like it. I checked the serial # on the transom and its CSY series

Nice trailer nice t top electronics also.

He's asking 17,500 but he may deal a bit.

I also had a buddy tell me about a 23 down in Key largo that he says is in good shape, I may go down and see that one if I can get a firm location on it.

But it comes with a pair of 86 mercs 175's, that looks and runs good, but you never know. And I could not find the serial #'s to confirm true year and HP

And that is what is holding me up

Re: Value 23 CC

want2fish,
Let me know what your looking for in model/years/price/condition
After thinking about it, I don't think there are more coming on the market than before, I just don't think the ones there are moving right now. Gas prices have really stopped older boat sales, unless they have newer fuel efficient motors. But what do I know, I am one of those Tracker guys (j/k) .
