dljohn, I would come south on I75 to SR56. West on SR56 which turns into SR54 until it dead ends at US19. South on US19 to Alt19.Alt19 to Anclote Blvd. Follow that west to Anclote River Park. That is the closest ramp to Anclote Key.
Wavelength, there is no facilites there at all, you have to bring everthing with you.

Gail and I are IN for Sat. and Sun. and maybe Friday night! Is there a head on the north end?

They have compost or something out there, it was pretty ragged the last time I saw it but that was last year, there nice bathrooms and cold outdoor showers at the Anclote ramp about 3 miles from the northend. I tried get out there today to check it out but the wind would have made it a long ride, so I stayed closer. I will be camping next weekend pending weather and will get an up to date report.

I just want to add that the Martha Stewart of boating and camping was in fine form with the cheese burgers today, hasn't lost her touch and knew exactly where I needed to go for a salt shaker we haven't used in 6 months, how does she do that?????? she is very good at the island cooking, this was baby stuff today LOL

No overnight parking at the ramp but I have a guy that has a private ramp that I will try to get permission for us- Tom its the Landings, either that or drop the boat in take it around the corner to the park at the power plant. I'll know more in say a week. Tom how about Nicks Park for him easier to find at least.

Can someone post a link to a map or aerial view of Anclote Key?
Thanks, Brian

Here is a link to terraserver that should show it and then you can expand and move around with the pic;s Anclote is the northern island the bar to the north is the North Bar. I'll check the link myself.

Closer view, the target spot for camping is right at that tip of sand on the north end or the North Bar - you will need 2 anchors.

I can do Saturday, only. Sunday is my busiest day. ;) But barring some parish crisis, I'll be there with one boat or another. I'll bring the family. The Seafari and the Tsunami have only been wet from rain for over 8 months. Time to give one of them a drink of saltwater. See ya.

No way to just run them up on the beach or is this an anchor and wade spot?

Its pretty deep up to the beach so not much wading but you need to anchor stern to the beach so you can get in it, plus you'll have some boat traffic. See Hammers 20 picture on here.

Aha! I just checked it out on Google earth. I could not find this Hammers 20 picture you speak of though.
What's that small building up there on the NW corner of the island (just off the beach)? Are campfires aloud out there? I'm fix'in to trim my Oak tree, by then we'd have some good burning wood.
