And then SOME!!!! Great fish Nick, kudos!

Without giving anything away, where abouts did you find that puppy? Also, how are the tuna running this year around here? I haven't spoken to anyone lately to ask.

Hi Lew,

I caught this fat puppy(52"L x 39" girth!) in my secret spot on the NWC. There were just 200+ boats in my secret spot, so come out and join us! :D

I had another that dumped 3/4 spool of 65# braid on a Penn 9500SS in 15 seconds to have the knot fail :(. I had to laugh though as the line sizzled off, to hear my buddy say "I think i got one?" :D No ..... , really?

Talk to those guys in FirstLightAnglers in Rowley not far from you. Great guys and they will set you up right.

Hurry up though, we are running out of time.

PM me if you need more info.

Good Luck Nick!

Re: Boston Bluefin

No rumors, here are the facts :)

***

I had a guy cancel last minute and since the fair weather window on Sat was small, I decided to head out solo from Gloucester.
Left the dock at ~6:30am Sat and hit the NW corner of Stellwagen bank at ~7:30 to see a few boats.
The usual, trolled sluggos and Rapala divers for a few hours and throwing jigs in between.
Then at ~10am the trolling Rapala reel sounds off !!
This fish was tough and did not tire like the others. Numerous runs all around the boat and wind/waves building and being solo was a challenge!
After ~45 min battle, rod in one hand and gaff in other, fish was in boat!
Fish was 58" estimated at 120lbs or better ….
I plan to quit while ahead at 3 fish for 3 trips!
