Not so sure about the I/O theory...transom glass looks original?? no evidence of a hole for the I/O in the skin?? Notched transom?? The cut out portion looks to match the two transom seat/hatches and in-deck livewell that I have in my 73. Only difference I see from mine is that I have the hullside vents.

Transom was replaced by the previous owner....it's actually a pretty decent job too. As for the I/O theory....i truely think it was one in some part of its life. Looking at I/O models and the peculiar cap transition at the transom lead me to believe this is true. But i still don't know what year it might be from......stringers are or were refitted to be one big mega stringer leading from about 12" Off of the CenterLine all the way out....they are glassed also....not just foam capped. Hopefully this weekend i will bring out the reciprocating saw, cut to make a decent coaming and remove the deck. Thanks for your input!!

My '72 has 4 f/g stringers; most 73 & later 20's I've seen had 2 wider box shapped stringers, so it's probably no older than a 73.

Well Okay Guys! Did surgery on the boat and found out it has 4 stringers......about 4 inches in width. As for the question of whether or not it was an I/O....it was an indeed and inboard/outboard at one point in its life! Will start posting pictures and the whole process.....of design/construction & destruction....so keep in touch...your comments will be welcome!!
