I got a couple questions:

How thick are your inner and outer laminates?

How much did you overlap the exterior laminate over the existing glass to tab it in?

The inner is 4 layers of glass with braces, 2 layers of matt and 2 layers of 1708 biaxle. The outter i stopped counting after 6 layers, the outter has at least a 1/4 inch thinckness while the inner is about and 1/8 thick. I didn't have that much gap on the outter edge to work with but i think i made it up on the inside.

Sounds like you're good on the laminate thickness. The rule of thumb would be to go at least as thick as the original laminate inside and out.

You're probably ok on the lip, too. The usual recommendation when bonding new laminate to old is to grind a taper at the edge of the old glass at a 12/1 ratio to the thickness. So if your laminate is 1/4", the edge where you want to bond it would have a 3" taper ground on it. That gives you plenty of surface area for a secondary bond. But that recommendation assumes you're using polyester resin which doesn't make a great secondary bond.

The fact that you used epoxy resin will give you a stronger secondary bond and that works in your favor. Also, your plywood is bonded to both old and new laminates from the inside, so there shouldn't be much stress on the joint.

Yeah I had about a 2 inch outter lip this is why I went a little heavier on the inside. Definately will make a larger outter lip next time. Thanks for info.
