think you may have missed this part mouse:

they're famous for corroding,seen many late model motors corroded in many different locations ...


now,when you own a shop and repair MANY motors,you get to see a lot of different things - things most owners don't - even internet legends,such as yourself mouse...

the numerous suzukis I've repaired/serviced - lots have had corrosion in many different areas - oil pans,mid sections,lower units,cylinder heads - corrosion causing problems with shift linkages seizing - all kinds of fun stuff mouse...in addition to having repaired quite a few 140's with the steel plug problems

seen many problems with their harness's and gauges

notice I didn't touch on the paint problems ?

see mouse,i base my opinions upon what I've seen and experienced,owning a shop is a little different than owning just one motor.see mouse,when you have a shop,you work on a lot of motors/boats - also,there's various training programs you need to take,in order to stay on top of the ever changing technology - attending these programs,you meet a large amount of others,in the business and "war stories" are often swapped - speaking about what you've been seeing,as far as failures/problems are concerned,with various motors - get the idea,or did I lose you mouse ? this is real world experience,NOT a bunch of internet legends,typing away,spewing their very limited experience,and VERY limited knowledge

That's a great price Robert and I don't think you will have any problem selling it. It's a shame you don't have a qualified tech closer to you to help resolve the issue but your working with a good with a good one from a distance.

Perfect response! It is everything we expected it to be. No doubt you were guy that has seen every out of warranty, used and abused basket case within driving distance. Didn't even know they sold so many up where you migrated from considering your vast experience with the brand. Funny you don't have experience to make any recommendations on the Mercurys? I imagine you around for all the early opti issues but I guess you were too busy fixing all those rotten Suzuki junkers. Guess I should sell mine too and convert to an I/O....

Ahhh, the Garden State! Great place to have been raised, just had to get out at a young age. Obviously, you can take the boy out of New Jersey, but you can't take the New Jersey out of the Boy. Can anyone verify the boy has a SeaCraft? GFS, didn't you borrow a trailer from him? Is he bigger than you or I? Can't imagine anyone writing this type of crap had he ever met Ken or his wife. Verbal diarrhea. Has not changed much since his introduction. Just my .02.
