220 sailfish is essentially the same hull as the 23 seacraft - 18inches

Their Sailfish 220 4450lbs rigged weight is approx 200 - 500lbs more than my 23 (depending on gear) .

New England Saltwater Fishing Show - 3 sailfish Reps knew I already had a 23 seacraft and was just asking about the 150 Performance on the 220.

I just have to tell.....one of the best "tourist things" I've done in a couple of years was going up in the Montauk lighthouse, not so much doing the lighthouse thing, but because the very attractive and well built girl in front of me going up the spiral stairs was wearing the shortest baggy shorts with the best t-back I've ever seen. I don't really remember too much about the lighthouse, just the view going to the top. :)

Don - The nice part about getting old is that we're invisible to those young ladies : ) Just don't stare too long. It's also funny how our memory still works perfectly for certain things.

I'm sorry guys but I'm having a real hard time believing all this chat about a 150 HP four stroke being a good Idea on a 23' SeaCraft. Being an original owner of a 23' SeaCraft for 40 years (next month) and having run 200 HP and 225 HP, I can't imaging dropping down to 150 HP. Now if these new 150's (rated) are pumping out near 200 HP (which I seriously doubt) then maybe, just maybe it would be an okay recommendation. And to top it off, I've been running 2 strokes to boot....more low end torque, better power to weight ratio, etc. I never like to say "never" but I'm going to have to personally run one of these 150 hp 23' rigs in some ocean slop, loaded down to be a "believer". Just my $.02, fire away...

Have to agree - 150 is not enough - I've got a 300 etec on mine up from a 250 OX66 and I'd like a bit more. 225 seems the minimum to me.

Just gotta ask, how do you like the etec?? If I had the money I'd put a 250HO G2 on mine in a minute!!

I would have agreed, but I ran a 175 powerhead for the last 5 years. 175 May not be for everyones rig, but it worked for me (until I ran it through a sandbar). Based on my own experience and input from merc 150 owners, I took a gamble. We'll see the only downside is buyer's remorse.

175 held 10 - 12, 14 17, 20, 24 mph no problem through Buzzards Bay slop . . . topped out 42/43. Supporting video evidence (both calm days) : )

I also ran a 225 3.0L carb Mariner with a Rev4 19P for a few trips. I was shocked by the fuel/oil consumption and sold it. Caper do you recognize the seats? :)
