It’s done

Josh, I saw your IG posts and if I'm allowed to say it......it's a bad ass SeaCraft!!!! :) :)

Thank you very much Don. I am very happy with the outcome. I still have some tweaking to do on the inside deck hatch to make it water right or at least resistant, but it honestly rides so much smoother than when I had the IO. I know I’m gonna catch some flack for that statement, but it’s the truth. It was glassy early yesterday and then the storms came in and it built up to a 2-3’ chop. The way the boat seemed to slide off the waves and not pound blew my mind. A much needed improvement.

Great Job Josh! I know I already sent you congrats on Insta but again really nice ride!

Is that a 300? What ever HP, when you have some water time on it please post up performance #'s and mpg. I like the G2 but wow the price is up there.

Well Ed my brother's 250 HO G2 spent last week in the Keys, it did very good!! Normal day was around 3.2 - 3.5 mpg and power is NOT a problem. He's running the RX4 15" x 20 prop. If he stays off the throttle, which is hard to do sometimes in really flat water, his mpg is better. Josh has a 300 G2 and I would expect his numbers to be very similar.

Nate, I shopped all the manufacturers and Evinrude was cheaper and lighter in comparison to all other makes. At $27,500 rigged for the 300 and having a 10 year warranty I couldn’t beat it. Here are the numbers from my first day out and like Don said, it’s very hard to not hammer down.....
At cruise between 3750 and 4000 rpm I was cruising around 37 knots burning 3.7gph. At WOT I was at 5750rpm and getting 51 knots and burning 2gph. I will say at WOT it’s stupid fast but being able to cruise around 35 knots and get that economy is amazing. The other amazing thing is no dealer maintenance for 500 hours or 5 years. I am extremely happy with my choice of the Stoner bracket and G2 engine combination. Any questions please ask as this was a 6 month long conversion that I did with the help of everyone on here. Thanks again guys for all the pointers. |
