Re: A New Boat to Check Out
Bonefish, it looks great!!!!
I do believe you will be ready for the Long Point gathering this April. :) No doubt it will be a head turner...... ;) See ya, Ken |
Re: A New Boat to Check Out
And to think Rybo Runners were going for 6 figures used 2 short years ago.....
I used to wait tables on " the island" 6 years ago and Kate Rybovich used to come in. What a hoot. Swore like a sailor, and regaled us all with some classic tales of giant tuna, blues, and blacks. I`m a little "high" from the poly fumes now, thanks to your and other`s inspiration. Lots done today. Thx, Gfs The work is 3 Michelin stars. That`s as good as it gets across the pond. |

Re: A New Boat to Check Out
Quick question... Do you know of anyone with the rails on their boat and how well they work... Worth the money?... I am redoing my 23' and was thinking of putting a set on mine... I had talked to the guy who sold the rails and said he would be willing to work out a little better deal for the web sites members... Thanks

Re: A New Boat to Check Out
I've been slack on progress pictures. Then my phototbucket account quit uploading them. Here goes something new.
These are the legs of the new hard top. Everything is just tack welded together for now. http://i31.tinypic.com/2ajwcgm.jpg The console has now been glassed into the boat. http://i32.tinypic.com/281bpxv.jpg Battery box underneath the roll up console seat. http://i25.tinypic.com/123slmv.jpg Legs mounted to the top of the console. http://i30.tinypic.com/v748bd.jpg Foam core hard top is fabricated. http://i26.tinypic.com/14b0oy9.jpg |

Re: A New Boat to Check Out
Hey Bonefish,
once you hang your new 300 zuke, dont forget to post some performance numbers. I think there are a few members of CSC who are interested. I know I intend to repower mine in the next year or so. thanx in advance.. Boat looks real nice by the way!! |
Re: A New Boat to Check Out
You're going to love the 300 Zuke. I got mine project finished back in Feb with about 115 hours on it so far and it rocks. My boat is not a Seacraft, but a 1973 23' Tsunami (Capt. Chuck can give more details on that boat). It is a foam filled tank, but it rides a little bit faster than the 23' Seacraft. I'm turning a 16"x20" Suzuki 3-blade prope. I posted numbers while I was breaking it in that are a little bit off. The guys that installed the engine didn't hook the multi function gauge up to my gps so my MPG readings were coming from the engine pitot pressure. I'm heading out again tomorrow and will keep a log and post my numbers with speed, rpms, gph and mgp(using gps speed). I can tell you that I cruise at 28 - 30mph @ 3750 rpms burning 8.74 gph = 3.20 - 3.43 MPG! http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/d...5/IMG_0818.jpg

Re: A New Boat to Check Out
Bob, These pictures are great, but the in person view is so much better. Everything is absolutely perfect. Too bad that everyone that has enjoyed this with you can't see it up close. The attention to detail is amazing in the flesh. How about a group picture of Frank, Tony, Nick and Glenn when it's finished? Better yet, I'll take it of you, the boat, and the F&B crew together. Dude

Re: A New Boat to Check Out
It floats!!! Finally got the boat in the water a couple of days ago. Still some work left, but we wanted to get the hard top mounted at exactly the right level and angulation. So we filled it up with 121 gallons of gas (OUCH!), and even placed a few bags of sand to duplicate the weight of the top and chairs. The legs were marked and are now back at the fabricator to be finished.

Re: A New Boat to Check Out
Bonefish,
Get Down! I am most impressed. How is the 300 working out? What pitch prop are you running? Performance numbers? Your work will not go unrewarded... http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/d...25/3bigger.jpg |
Re: A New Boat to Check Out
Bonefish......how much did you raise the new floor???
That is one amazing boat.......!!!!!!!!! |
Re: A New Boat to Check Out
The floor was raised about 2". The boat is about finished now and I'll post pictures, but here are some progress pics to catch up.
Console is now being completed. The plates have been welded into the proper position to accept the hard top. http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g2...nes/csc190.jpg http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g2...nes/csc187.jpg http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g2...nes/csc189.jpg Battery box and inside of the console. http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g2...nes/csc191.jpg http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g2...nes/csc192.jpg http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g2...nes/csc193.jpg This is cool: wires from the black box VHF and stereo travel through the back of the drawer box and into the top drawer. Re: A New Boat to Check Out
What a shine. That SeaCraft is one beautiful example of craftsmanship. Can't wait to see some pics of that deck covered with blood and guts :D :D
|
Re: A New Boat to Check Out
this is one of the best rebuilds I have seen in a long time with some unbeleivable craftsman ship in wood working. keep up the good work. make sure all those wires and hoses are neat and tight inside that console you want to keep here pretty inside and out!! is the 110 volt plug for the ram or something else?
|
Re: A New Boat to Check Out
Do you want to sell it when your done and if so how much? :D Just kidding of course... That boat is awesome Bob. We are looking forward to your final barrage of pictures but make them bigger please!
strick |
Re: A New Boat to Check Out
The 110v plug underneath the console was placed so that I didn't have to hard wire the battery charger. It is wired to an external plug in that is located under the gunwale, so that it is hot when plugged into an external source.
Here are some progress pics of the top that I forgot in my last post. It was painted, pre-wired, and then placed. http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g2...nes/csc195.jpg http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g2...nes/csc196.jpg http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g2...nes/csc201.jpg http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g2...nes/csc202.jpg Almost there! |
Re: A New Boat to Check Out
