your way too humble with your ability to throw a cast net Dixon! It will be a great time, especially with the infamous egggsuckindog on board!

Fr. Frank 01-11-2008 12:32 AM

Re: Long Point info

Dixon, I gotta admit I'm pretty good at throwing lead at mullet and other fish. It's getting fish inside the net that's my problem. Oh yeah, I just gotta remember to hang onto the leash, especially when casting at ballyhoo or cigar minnows in 40+ feet of water. I really, really hate having to dive in after my net :o

I can't free-dive 60-70 feet like I could 30 years ago. If I didn't have a 20' leash that floats, I would have lost my net twice already. :)

BTW, we can't stay, but hope to spend part of Saturday morning with y'all. Gotta be back home for a church service at 6 that evening, and it's a 4 hour drive to Sebastian.

Fr FRank if you will notice the edit, in his moderator mode it was changed, actually pretty clever of him. Actually Danny is giving the "Stun them with a blob of lead" seminar :D The truth be known after watching twice with stunned little pinfish everywhere I took over and completed the bait aquistion without anymore endangerment to natures treasures :D

Stick to throwing chum, you did an excellent job by the way :D Although it will be sabiki's at Long Point so maybe a bit of practice is in order, I always get them in my arm but you can pull them right out with pliers so don't worry.

Hopefully you can add another couple of folks to the list; I've contacted Long Point about a campsite for me & the wife. It will be great to meet you folks & see the boats. We are second owners of a 1977 20' CC all original and needs a little help, but the Yam 150 runs great. We are just moving (back) to FL from Southern California and my wife is eager to meet new people & see new things. Can't believe she's so into going camping on her birthday!! Got room for a couple of strangers?

Newly single guy, 3 kids though!I think this trip will be without the little ones (9, 7, and 4yr olds). I would rather bring them down on a calmer weekend.

This is more of a dad gets a well deserved break weekend. I would also love to look over some of the other SeaCrafts and solicite some advice as to how to correct some issues with my current 20 SF.

I will have some cold coronas for sure!

I also hope to luck into a couple snook while I am there.

So to answer your question I may be alone, or with some buddies or with a female companion. I havent figured that out yet, but i can assure you I will have my boat, fishing gear, BEER, bait and a good attitude ready to have some fun!

Thanks Snook & Bones, we are really looking forward to a good time, crackin' open a few cold ones & learning more about these old tubs. Mine is pretty basic & original, actually a little scary with the 150 Yamaha & the 20" transom... Are you bringing kids to the shindig? How old are they?

Unless the schedule monkey screws up my schedule, I will be at Longpoint with my boat. If anyone is coming in from out of town, or is boat less, and wants to fish, let me know.
I am licensed and tackled for 6 pack, but usually only take 4 out.

wanting to do this and have put off, go ahead and call
the park and make your reservations..
There number again is 321-952-4532

Re: Long Point info

I grew up in Palm Beach, as well. Grandparents lived on Brazilian in Palm Beach, I grew up in Lake Worth and Palm Beach Gardens. I was the Dockmaster at Waterway Marina at PGA blvd and the ICW back in '83-'84, when Frank Brown was right across the street.

I learned to waterski in sight of that lighthouse. I've run in Jupiter Inlet in a 25' Robalo when it was 9-15' offshore and breaking 20' in the inlet 'cause we didn't have the fuel to ride the Nor'easter out, and knew an anchor wouldn't hold. I've also run out the mouth of the inlet when it was as smooth as a sheet of glass at over 70 mph in a 30' Velocity. I knew Jupiter well. I hav'nt been through it in 16 years.

I hope to see y'all at Long Point, though I can't stay the night.
