Re: Peanut Island Gathering 6/17-6/18 2011
Sandy- the Morgan 24 is a classic late 60's sailing vessel. Sometimes confused with the classic fishing boat with the same length and name. It is for sale. My folks will eventually only have the 18 SeaCraft. By the way, we may get the Morgan out and anchored off Peanut!

Danny,
A friend`s dad had a 36 in HS. Let me know if you need someone to crew for you. Friends had an `ole Columbia 28 all spidered down b4 Wilma, but she got taken out by derelicts. Caught a 33# African Pompano dragin` a Bally behind it. That puffer could raise some fish. :o There is a beautiful puffer on the hook off P.B. Looks for the world like a Concordia yawl, but doesn`t have the ubiquitous moon and star on the cove stripe. Body bag? Ken, are you bringing hot rounds? Is there a range in JFK`s bunker? |
Re: Peanut Island Gathering 6/17-6/18 2011
I guess since your legal this trip Raccoon Boy won't need his disguise
Any bait ever around that pier Sandy? We also have to figure out parking as we need permits and stuff to park at the ramp - plenty of time though. |

We need to hear the rest of the story. De-masted? Ouch.
Good thing you were on a Morgan. Dixon, We`re planing on storing trucks and Volvos at the Flotilla Club. I did notice a nice bait pen on their docks...... yearning for prisoners. Close enough to the cut to get good water. grin: Cheers, GFS |

Re: Peanut Island Gathering 6/17-6/18 2011
Sandy we also need the numbers for the wreck off Singer Is., I think Racoon Boy needs to find out what happens to a pinfish, my treat
I have a bait pen, so if you can figure out if baits under that pier we're golden. I'm sure there are pins but threads would be better. |

Here ya go Dixon, The Esso Bonaire gave me a 30+ cobia on a tom tail grunt. Go figure huh. Cap`t Scotty brown and his wife asked me if I would like to join them for a fun fish and of course I`m in. 29 seavee, cummins 330 diamond series, yum. His wife caught the tom tail and looked at me. I nodded. I gave it a little rudder adjustment and 30 seconds later Whack! Bait is mostly outside in June. Juno pier or LW pier are good early and late. If it`s glassy early, just run the beach and look for dimples. Santa brought me a brandy new custom Tim Wade 10 ft. net for Xmas. I hadn`t thrown a big net since Wilma. I use the triple load method and was a bit hesitant in front of co-workers in the warehouse. Beautiful big pancakes for afternoon snack time. What a sweet net. 162 clams to the door. Tim said some of his employees have been with him since the `60s. I love that. I`ve got a nice fat live well for a 20. Bring the pen. Divers will brag about their numbers, fisher folks, not so much. Cheers Charles Schultz |
Re: Peanut Island Gathering 6/17-6/18 2011
I dove it once and the Aj's are all little Racoon Boy will want, but they all need at least one, just grab his belt LOL
One was at least 9ft honest, he/she just sat there, never moved |

Be there???? |
Re: Peanut Island Gathering 6/17-6/18 2011
For those folks still trying to figure out when 12:01am on 3/17 is......I'm not going to name names...........there is the beach camping on the west side of the island WITHOUT RESERVATIONS. They are first come first served. Here are some pictures and info:
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...achcamping.jpg http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...daydockage.jpg Natural Areas Beach Camping is available on designated beaches located on the west-side of the island Due to the environmentally sensitivity of the area, Natural Areas Beach Campers are asked to only establish campsites on the sandy beach only and to avoid disturbing the surrounding vegetation. Open fires are prohibited but small barbecue grills are permitted for cooking on the beach. There are no indoor showers available in the Natural Areas. An outdoor pole shower is available at a nearby bathroom facility. For your safety, Natural Areas Beach Campers are required to sign in with their drivers license or other official picture ID at the park office and provide the names of all individuals staying on their site, as well as a cell phone number (if available). |
Re: Peanut Island Gathering 6/17-6/18 2011
Ok folks- We are locked down on our dates 6/17/-6/19. The Motley Crew knows the drill:
Most of our crowd has the got it down pat and can help put this thing together. Check in is 1pm Fri and check out is 11am Sun. We need a count for those members, friends, and lurkers who plans to come for the day or the weekend. We need to know how many to plan for. I think we have about 8 of the 20 sites covered - not counting the overflow sites on the West side of Peanut. What we should do is make Saturday night the big dinner night which includes Ken's Shrimp and Brian's spicy cocktail sauce. We all can bring 1 covered dish for Sat night ( fish, hot dogs, hamburgers, baked beans, potato salad, shrimp, rum punch, ect) and the throw away plates and utensils. Between ESD, No Bones, GFS, 65 Bowrider, Bushwacker, Briguy ,and myself we have enough people to each bring the goods. The 2 pavilions for the island and the 1 camper's pavilion should be great options for our sign and food area. Gofastsandman has been running interference with parking. Bring folding chairs. For those of us that have our boats there we can shuttle those that do not from various points nearby. Getting some free press about the event and even some donations for the raffle always just makes it better. Donors get free advertising. A Father's Day Tourney happened last year in Lake Park (nearby) but I don't have 2011 info yet. Please PM / call me 941-713-3372 / start with this post so we can get a count ASAP. This event is a great way to rebuild the momentum that we had going. We definitely need a shirt made. All suggestions are welcome. Let's make this happen! |

I can run a shotgun line off the pole. Last summer someone had a pole on a large wine and cheese boat. Very funny. I think Blue/Evan has the art work from the K.L. show. Anybody able to contact him? Lots of folks are absent on the thread here. Chime in people. I know we are 2+ mos. out, but let`s hear it. How many fisher folks need rides? Others? Ryan? Doodlebug? 3rdDay? Other local lurkers? Everyone is welcome and it is a time where thoughts and joy are shared in equal amounts. Oh , and food too. ;) Cheers, GFS |

"We have a pool and a pond.... I think the pond would be good for you"
Danny tell Raccoon Boy to start getting his neck hard, maybe some of those coffee can cement things - wreck, live bait, fighting belt = hardcore fun and big fish And to our friend worrying about getting his boat done - don't, we have as many boats as people - your good |
Re: Peanut Island Gathering 6/17-6/18 2011
Damn Danny no comments from Raccoon Boy or are you just not passing them on?

Anyway, I've been kinda lax on my CSC.com attendance and what happens while I'm slacking??, this Peanut Island thing has gone crazy  Count me in!! Sounds like a blast.

Naw it ain't so.......not a chance in hell!!!
Anyway, got a wild hair to come home today from Augusta, GA via I95/I4 versus my normal southbound route of I95/I10/301/I75. While going through "area 442" I kept looking for the CSC.com banner, flag or the CSC "Bat signal" against the sky...guess I missed it. Take care!! |
