Your little yacht is quite the work of art also, little more traditional than mine. She is beautiful, you should be very proud.
The scuppers come from the larger sportfish, the covers are designed so when backing down water doesn't come in.
I just really wanted the boat to drain when at rest and washing, and if as Strick suggest, that she gets a "little" topheavy, I will have some plugs. :-)

Finally some good advice from you, will do. :-)

Classic.:D

Any ping pong balls on them curious scupper caps or is it simply a diversion principle?

You gonna be in the Northern or Southern Republic of CA?

Caymanboy 05-12-2013 05:31 PM

Simply diversion.
Hell, I'm gonna be in Cali, Isn't it all the same? :-)
Northern, fly into SFO, drive to Santa Cruz, Monteray, then on to Big Sur.
We will not be swimming-------.

strick 05-12-2013 07:02 PM

Me thinks it looks better then the ping pong ball plastic deals that I have on both my boats. What are they made out of ? SFO tarmac is right on the water. I think I can get the 20 sceptre right up to the beach.... if you need a Seacraft fix while you here :)

Caymanboy 05-12-2013 07:48 PM

Last time I landed in SFO it was 0100. And SYT was navigating with an Iphone, after she had been cocktailing the whole way out, she kept turning the phone, wasn't funny at the time, but is more so now.
I just sold an engine and shipped it to Santa Cruz, that gentleman offered me a ride also, believe it or not, I am ready for a break from boating, and I am really adverse to wearing ski clothes yachting. Thank you for the offer though. :-)
They are made from FRP, FRP exhaust tube cut in half, then modified so they are glued on, no screws.

If you find yourself wanting good reasonably priced Italian food while traveling through Monterey check out Rosines http://www.rosinesmonterey.com/

I will do that, eating while traveling is a passion. Maybe we can meet up somewhere for a lunch or something? I arrive on the 25th around 1300 and leave 2400 on the 2nd.

The new F200 is 489lbs, about 10 lbs heavier than a Z200 HPDI, about equal when the oil tank is figured in.
The paint is weird, some days it is mello, some days it ain't, it's BRIGHT, I have leaned to adapt to it. She floated today, I will post some pics later. It's looking good, pretty happy.
Thank you all for the very nice comments.

The coral color shows much better when she's on water.

Billybob 05-16-2013 01:04 PM

That is one helluva job Caymanboy.
Absolutley beautiful.

Caymanboy 05-16-2013 02:10 PM

Just wait till June when I get some of that pretty Bahamian water and LLL/TM II on the bow.
THEN we shall see some coral color. :-)

uncleboo 05-16-2013 02:31 PM

Waiting with baited breath!

RUSTYNTABATHA 05-16-2013 07:44 PM

Ok, so looking at the calender made me wax nostalgic for a bit. I will post a few photo's of C/R.
These are from a 2 years ago with LLL/TM, she really wasn't the fishing type, but as long as she actually didn't have to do anything with rigging the rod, life was good. All I know is, the fish looked up through that clear water and said, "man, I need to be in that boat". Mimmosa's and LLL/TM were always a good thing.
Some trips home aren't as calm as you would wish them to be.

SYT was like clockwork, for some reason around April she would go on Walkabout, which usually left me feeling sorry for myself, the best way I knew to fix that was, boattrip!! Nothing like a cigar and clear water to clear the head.
So, the Bahama's, Memorial Day and camping on C/R became sort of a ritual.
These are from 3 years ago, as you can see everyone had a pretty good time. Not everyone camped on the boat, just me. :-)

There are a few good thing's to go "trolling" with when you are a 50 something yr old male.
A baby, (someone else's), a dog, those are the good ol' stand-by's. Well last year, I found a new one by mistake. Try a 20 something Special Forces stud. A friend of mine has a son who is in the Special Forces, he had some time off, we where having some drinks and he suggested a Bahama's trip, ala camping on the SeaCraft, I knew he was used to camping and he wanted to drink, dive and sleep, not necessarily in that order. Off to the Islands we go, went to Big John's an lo and beholt, this is what he came back with, two late 20 somethings, looking for guess what? The same thing we where. Go figure----. Well, the true story is a little to torrid for CSC, just take your lead from the last pic and things progressed from there.

I'm going to get off track for a second, just so everyone doesn't think we have lock on pretty girls down south, these are from my captain days, this was a photo shoot for the Cleveland Cavaliers Cheerleader Calendar, taken on the back of an 80' Mangusta, in guess where? Cleveland, some funny stuff that day.

Back to boat building.
I am an analog guy living in a digital world. I must say, I thoroughly enjoy the sound and smell of a 2 stroke screaming across the shallow, clear waters of konk-land.
I have installed many a 4 stroke on my customers boats, but this will be my first personal foray into 4 stroke territory, and I must confess, I am a little excited. Ok, alot excited.
Boat was launched yesterday, w/l was checked. She floated good, real happy.
One thing is pretty clear, for a boat that doesn't have much stuff, this little rocket has, lot's of chit.
The answer is in the details.
Flush latches, hinges, recessed lips, screwless rodholders, SeaStar Pro Steering. And just a whole host of little things, not all ideas are mine. And I must say, the steering hose's through the bracket idea came from non other than Mr. Herman himself. Who, even though we do the same thing, "mess about in boats", has never ever been anything but helpful and a true gentleman.

RUSTYNTABATHA 05-17-2013 08:12 AM

Digging the console upgrade !!! I plan to raise the front of my console as well to flush mount my electronics... And the corral and blue look great together !! I have a long list of thiings to do to mine and have gotten a good start on adding and installing... i have to paint the sole due to varish of some sort. A previous owner tried to varnish the teak with it installed on the boat and got it all ver the inside of the boat and then tried to whipe it up just smearing it around... It is a sticking point for my better half.

hermco 05-17-2013 09:34 AM

Ahhh! Boat porn! :D

Ryan 05-17-2013 12:54 PM

Chuck,
Thank you so much for the "Stamp", there are so many other boats that have been done so well, it's an honor. Thank you.
The ladder is from GG Schmitt you can see it here, they have some nice stuff. This one is the two step folding, aluminum.

Things are moving along. Laying out the boot top this w/e.
Fuel tank hatch went in. Console in (for good) next week.
I ended up putting Micron 66 on the bottom, it was close to the other Blues that are going on in the boat. It will lighten up as it sits in the water.
Got a busy week going on around here this week. Next Saturday off to Clint Eastwood Country, be there for a week, then come back and get this thing wired up and in the wata.
Time to git me some of dem elusive and speedy konk!! :-)

You know, we all have our own ideas of "bliss" or the "holy grail".
Don't get me wrong, I cannot complain, single, early 50's, live on a boat, in a nice section of town, got a nice small business, women come and go, my friends live vicariously through my exploits. They are envious on me and me of them.
With all that being said, there has to be something in the air up there that Mr. Herman breathes, he comes up with some damn great ideas-----.
Aneyway------, one day there is a palm tree with my name on it, in the mean time, I will continue to do what I like and know, "mess about in boats."
OP

hermco 05-18-2013 06:23 AM

Top of the line, robust ladder. The best you can get. You might want to try flat head bolts to mount it tho. You can get em around the corner from Lewis Marine! Heh heh heh. Nice rig Mr. Parker!

Caymanboy 05-18-2013 06:36 AM

Ya know---, I'm OK with carriage bolts (in this application), don't have to worry about stress cracks or water sitting in the screw heads.
There always has to be a critic somewhere. :-)

hermco 05-18-2013 07:55 AM

Flat heads easier on da feets for you old dudes! Heh heh heh. :D

Ok, I have previously stated that I am an analog guy living in a digital world.
And right now I will admit I don't know what the ef I am doing and so therefore, I am asking for advice.
How do you get different "quotes" from different folks back in the "replies?"
Annnnd Don-----.
It's not like I am standing back there driving and standing on the d---- bolt heads, for that matter, I will p-- from the other side thank you. ;-) You know, left hand engine, right hand----, you get the idea.
