Discussed this with Susan tonight and we vote the Ramada and Anclote - for what its worth. Which is not much since we are between both and it doesn't matter other than the area and it doesn't get much better than Anclote - if anyone wants to grouper fish I have hundreds of good numbers within 15 miles of Anclote.
Rusty said he had a house in NPR to stay at so that may help him. Denny you are correct - coming over 710 to 98 in Oki thru Zolfo Springs to 64 is a great drive and great roads. The run north gets worse but just running over 75/275/ Skyway and dropping in at Ft Desoto would allow you to hook up with the guys driving up, as they have to go right passed there. That price at the Ramada might even allow some folks to arrive on thurs rather than Fri and still cost less, I'm guessing 20 to 30 for a slip in St Pete 90 + 30 and a 12% bed tax in Pinelllas, NPR is in Pasco. Denny the North Bar at Anclote is pet friendly as is the Ramada so Shadow better be coming, just like Sandy it wouldn't be right without her - just say'in It would be like not having DonV too, he's kinda a dog |

Sounds good

"It would be like not having DonV too, he's kinda a dog"
And damn proud of it!! :) Hey Anclote is good by me!! ESD's grouper numbers will make it even more productive! Gotta be by December 3rd though!! http://myfwc.com/fishing/saltwater/r...onal/groupers/ |

Where is the Ramada and does the Ramada have dockage? Do we boat from the Ramada to Anclote or ??? What dates are we now looking at? Thanks, |
Quote:
The St Pete site near Ft Desoto would be about $110 including the slip both places have Nov 1 -2 available - last weekend of Daylight savings but dates are not set Danny maybe start a tally of votes for dates and places |
X NOV 1,2 and the NPR ....
My offiical unofficial ballet. lol unless we move it further north... then i vote for that ...lol Just tell me were to show up... i was haveing trouble finding Anclote... i knew i had seen the name on a map but couldn't put my thumb on it... then i looked on the water and BAM... there it was ..lol |
Dates and ramada sound good to me!

Is this the correct Ramada ????:) Look's like it's on the agua. |
I'd prefer St Pete, but will be happy to go with whatever.
Is there a safe place to leave a truck and trailer overnight in or near NPR? |

cdavisb may be able to park them at my brother in laws place if that is where it is.. I will be leaving my boat it the water behind the house.. If i bring it... may just use his Hydro sport since it is hanging there already... But not the same... But driving the nissan altima down would be like hitting 3 numbers in the loto compared to dragging "Bill Bait" Down..lol

there is a ramp in the Cottee River ( Nicks Park) nearby but I don't use it and would have to check on safety but should be OK, don't know about a parking fee but most have them now, Anclote is in the same county and has one as do all Pinellas ramps - Anclote Park at the end of the Anclote River is well protected although you would have to pay the $6 per day parking, 5 good ramps and thats where I will leave mine. I would consider driving the boat up frankly, at least from FD, the only potential issue is between Johns Pass and Clearwater pass with a long no wake zone there - other than that its ICW all the way. Its a nicer boat ride from there than the car weather may have something to say about everything at Nov 1 |

Shadow will be 13 in November, so don't know if she'll be up for that trip, but will try to bring her if possible. She's still pretty healthy but slowing down, with more naps and less lizard chasing! Our nightly 45 minute walk is now about 30 minutes, with a lot more stops to sniff! Must have picked up that habit from our beagle! Denny |
Denny I stop and sniff alot more now too, and stopped lizard chasing years ago
ya that 98 is wide and smooth |
Rusty you don't know me - normal is quite a stretch

Big word for area 442
It has come to my attention the Honorable DonV will be out town that weekend - last chance to make any last minute changes. That is the last weekend of DST but maybe move it up a week for Don? |

I WILL NOT be the first one to give Apo a credit card reservation! Sounds like the first one will pick-up the tab for 15 rooms!! Rain or shine... Tank-u, cum again! Attachment 5282 |
"Honorable DonV".......now that's a stretch!!
We're looking to move our visit to the Granddaughters a few weeks earlier....more to come. In any case I'll make our reservations for ONE room when I back from fishing today. |
Quote:
BTW: Yo Don, tell Akeem you'll take the handicap spot in the parking lot for your tent! (do you still get the continental breakfast?) |
Can we have a count again on who is planning to show up?
TK aka islandtrader is in for the above dates. |

Terry, put me in the "yes" column!
Chuck, I'm good with Habib, Akeem, Omar, Barrack, whatever his name is, he's got some good stuff to smoke with the free breakfast!!! I'm looking into a small tent, like GFS has....well maybe not that small, and pitch it in the dumpster. |
Life is good again, glad to hear
Bones - its standard reservation policy, they really want to know about the slips more than anything. Susan will do ours as soon as we decide whether we want to stay Thurs night too. the gag grouper have been very prolific all summer in 50' or less but Nov is a monster month if anybody is interested - all inshore fish will be around as well its only 6 weeks now kids |

Chuck squeaky turbines don't bother me, I have 2 ex wifes, and can't hear chit anyway |
I plan on being there boat or no boat... I am due to start a new job on nov 7th... and have alot on the plate that came up in the last month ... so we may be there in the car and borrow the brother in laws Hydro sport... we will be staying in port richey at his place..
|
I'm in. Not sure yet if I'll be bringing the Mrs. or a fishing buddy. I can hear the Groopah calling, and Julie don't go offshore.
