Sandy, most importantly did you get your ducks in a row and determine a trajectory for a picnic table to land on or other suitable bivouac accommodations? You'er fix'in to be 30 days out so "tighten up" and git ready to git ready. And don't be whine'in about hav'in to drive all the way across the state - Kmoose is bolt'in drop tanks on the GMC just to get in range from Ocala. Gee wiz Sandy, Ocala is like eleven feet south of Georgia, so you got it made if the truck don't burn down! I know you got to blow off a couple of Tee Times with yur friends out at the PGA that weekend, but they just hang around with you because they think yur rich or some'thin. We know better, you'er like the rest of us - you got a boat! |

Having said that I will take the last room and slip. Can`t golf anymore, but I can dive and fish and type. Got Bombers and Yozuris. They have a nice kitchen there...? |
Poor Dave (Blue Heron)
I'm feel'in kinda sorry for poor Dave (Blue Heron - well actually Cattle Egret, now) He's got to put on a happy face and go to some dang wedd'in of one of his 4 friends up in Hog Country just know'in we'll all be down at Cabbage Key. We'll be thrown'in glasses in the fire place at the bar, dragg'in big ol fish over the transoms, sport'in around Charlotte Harbor in our Classic SeaCrafts and celebrat'in the dang mid-term elections. We'll be hav'in a campfire on the beach, eatin' smoked mullet, stone crab claws and Connor's oysters and Dave will be sittin at some table with doilies on it try'in to carry on a conversation about the flower arrangements. Meanwhile, the little gears will be turnin' in his head and the movie will be running and he'll be be wonderin' what CSC's version of Ed Norton (GFS) is scheming to do next as a First Lieutenant in General Chicanery's Army!

Hey Up Chuck, I tried those shrimp and grits a few weeks ago, they were just ok to me, however I was very happy that as I was down to three or four bites I found one piece of andouile sausage. I wanted to bring back the Wendy's commercial and yell "where's the beef"?

It the above still the plan? Who all is planning on being there? |
Jim that looks about right, however you may be slightly off on the cocktail "happy hour" schedules....maybe those are little short!!
|
You'll be are most welcome. Its about time we had some South Carolina boys around to teach these crackers how to act. I could use some help gathering oysters, Saturday, low tide, about 9 am.

Staying at the Cabbage Key Restaurant & Inn. Room # 4. I'm traveling light (no wife, no kids or boat). Looks like I will need a lift from the mainland (launch pad, etc) to the Island... any of you guys moonlight as a "Water Taxi"? LOL!! I will be arriving on Saturday morning. Bet i win the award for longest commute. Looking forward to meeting everyone...😮 |

BUT...I started thinking "why should I have only half the fun?" So, I've decided to come down a day earlier than I originally planned. Now, I'm going to arrive Friday afternoon (At the redneck launch pad, i guess) so I can enjoy the whole experience including the Friday festivities!! Jim C. |
77 scepter and I will be at the Inn. Should know tomorrow if I can slide out of town on Friday. May bring Slacker Air. Are there any bugzzz over there?
Mmm, Lobstah, it`s not just for breakfast anymore. |
Boat Challanged Seacrafters
Quote:
Do not get stuck on dragging a Seacraft here if it impedes you making the trip. We got plenty of Seacraft boats - we need experianced navigators and throttlemen to select new and exciting places for us to run aground! Sandy, I've never seen a lobster off of Boca Grande. I've got 'em from Bayport to Venice when you used to be able to take Jewfish (Golliath Grouper) The only critter that loves lobster more than you is the dang Jewfish. They can "vacuum" 'em out from under the ledges. I've seen a few this year down south off of Sarasota in May along with some Lion Fish, but haven't been back since the season opened. There are a few small ledges off of Boca in about 45' then some stuff that is pretty far apart in about 75' then another ledge strata at about 90'. Trader Ter, may know of some stuff up off of Gasprilla. that is relatively shallow . Most everyting is pretty deep for Slacker Air hose lines but bring it along, we'll jug a spot and we'll put it to work. Bring your harpoon gun, we got lots of fish over here! |

I hear slippers are there. I also hear they taste more like our northern bugzzz. Also hear Cubera can not resist them. Ice cream for them. Can`t wait. |
Jim not to worry!! We'll find you and get you over to CK. I'm doing it a bit different, I'm putting in at Elrods in Placida either Thursday or Friday and taking the boat down to CK from there. It's only about 14 -15 miles on the intercoastal. Doing it that way I can run by some of the shallows I've run aground on years ago and reminisce.

Got Friday.
Cheers, GFS |
It is with great regret Patti & I will not be able to attend...:(
I have reservations for room #6 up for grabs if someone would like to take it before it must be canceled. (10 days prior) As most of you know I have been in the POS business (cash registers) for 39 years! We currently have a contract for the second largest sale of my career....:D This new project is due to roll at the end of the month.. I will miss seeing everybody.. |
Well poop Ken, we're gonna miss you and Patti. Congrats on the business deal, however I would have thought to miss the gathering it would have taken the largest sale of your career!!!! :) Just for grins I'll have a drink, or two, and think of you guys next month!!

That is a very big deal and we will tell many lies about you in your absence. Knock knock. Cheers, Get you furry POS register here. Many. You have this in you, go out in style. |

That is awsome Ken. Think about it - that's like catching a 65 yard pass in the retirement endzone! The dang Millennials, X and Y generation is sitt'in around Starbucks, runnin' to the Spa and lean'in on the water cooler "talking" about what they are going to do and you drag a dang Mastodon back into camp! It's tough for them to "muster up" when the "'ol guy" has a 4 decade record of deliverables! Too Cool! We'll all miss you and Patti at the Gathering but let me know when you can "double back" and Trader ter, Conner, Sticth'in Mike or I will meet you down there and we'll boil up some stone crabs for dinner after we inventory the shells on the beach at Cayo Costa. |
CSC Web-site stuttering?
Sandy, I never seen a web-site stutter before, have you? Must have some'thin to do with the Blood Moon - weird!!!
|
Poof.... Gone...

Cabbage Key Inventory
Ok let's see. No Bones made a big sale and now has to deliver on his word, Mike8560 sold his boat and is now challanged himself with a Well-crack and Cattle Egret Dave is saddled with a wedding he has to go to. However at a bare minimum I think the following is locked and loaded for the CSC Gathering next month at Cabbage Key / Cayo Costa.
77 Scepter and GFS Don and Deb Terry and Mrs. Island Trader Kmoose and Mel Conner and Karen Admiral Snookerd and co. Teas'in Ter and Marsha We need to take inventory and get a because Donny don't know how much elixer to bring wif him and we don't want to run short of his new private lable "Pink Pantie Drop" which sounds almost interesting enough for Sandy invest in a pair. |

The wife and I are set up at the Cabbage Key Hilton for Friday and Saturday nights. Planning to head down Friday afternoon, I am estimating it will take between 2-4 hours depending on weather so we should be there between 3 and 5. Are we doing a phone/email list again this time?
