I mentioned this to Deb, did not go as well as I expected! We're now checking to make sure our Medicare and high priced supplemental insurance will cover her treatments!! :)

If I get my new to me 23 in order, I’m quit sure my wife will not want to be with me. Something about conking our mid-stream last time. How about a charter plane for the wifes? Or is there scheduled air service?

cdavisdb 09-22-2018 07:02 AM

Lots of flights to Marsh Harbor. A charter might get you to a smaller, but closer airport, not sure.

Marsh Harbor is too far for those that are only going to Grand Cay, but those that are extending the trip the extra 100 miles to Hope Town, ect.,that is THE PLACE for arrival via a flight (flights are $300-$350 RT) . Another plan for bringing wives and kids over that are not interested in crossing in our SeaCrafts is…

Snookerd 09-22-2018 05:56 PM

You can pick them up at Freeport which is a southern detour from west end. It’s the best price and the closest point to pick them up…. There are flights right there in Freeport as well.

Hey Danny, so what's Bones going to do on the tow over? Go down to the salon and take a nap in the A/C? Catch some football on the satellite TV? Maybe have the chef cook him up some blackened YF tuna for lunch? Or maybe watch a few vids of his favorite girl Stormy? I mean does Ken have the life or what?? :)

NoBones 09-23-2018 11:17 AM

It is a 65 Viking that belongs to a buddy of mine !!
He is always looking for an excuse to run to the Bahama's..

I just gave it to him ! ;)

That was us during Snapper season last month...
Me in the port corner, Jr next to me.

It is a late model battle wagon for sure !
2 state rooms, fully stocked galley, 3 heads with showers...
3 A/C's, reverse osmosis system that makes 70 gallons an hour, need I go on..

The older we get the more I love comfort..:D

Must be nice! Maybe he can throw me one of the crew’s mid tier beers 🍺 if I pull up close enough to the stern!

Live bait for everyone!

Bump

Snookerd 10-15-2018 03:41 PM

Extra question on the poll (extended trip) for those that want to fly the wife into Marsh Harbor to attend the Cheeseburger 200 boat sand bar party on July 2nd.

Vezo, Part II 10-15-2018 09:53 PM

I have no one to fly, Lucie will be staying at a friends! I’d like to try the extended trip, but may choose to travel either way with biggest group. My boats not insured but will have a ditch bag strapped to my rods!!!

Hmmm

Snookerd 10-16-2018 09:28 AM

Sounds good You should be all set....

Snookerd 04-04-2019 10:26 PM

****Update*****Dates are locked 7/10-7/14. DonV and No Bones and I are going....who else wants to head East to the Bahamas 🇧🇸?? Plans are getting put together.

rcnight 04-05-2019 09:33 AM

Can you make some suggestions for landside lodging?

Snookerd 04-05-2019 12:24 PM

Hey Casey - Rosies and Josey Wales are the names of the two places that I typically look at… As far as I know they don’t take reservations. I do know the owners son at Josey Wales and I will send him a message and ask him about reserving at his location. The hotel in Jupiter to stay overnight before we clear the inlet is called the Jupiter waterfront inn. I will post phone numbers later today.

Snookerd 04-05-2019 09:42 PM

Messaged my guy on Grand Cay.... he is preparing to reserve up to five rooms for us on the 11th,12th, and 13th. They usually don’t do reservations, but we may be able to pull a few strings. Jupiter waterfront in phone number to book for the 10th ( The night before we leave) *+1 (561) 747-9085‬

Snookerd 04-06-2019 02:03 PM

OK, we have five rooms available three standard rooms and two with kitchens on Grand Cay. We’re going to need to book these quick so, let me know by next week if you going to be a part of the first gathering in the Bahamas. I also need to know what room you want.

Briguy 04-14-2019 07:57 PM

Cool. It going to be epic. So far we’ve got team Snookerd, DonV, NoBones, Briguy, (maybe Tyler and Casey) going. Here is the motley crew who said they were going....C’mon brothers, do it!

rcnight 04-15-2019 09:23 AM

If I can finish up my transom and splash it by May 1, I’m in.

Snookerd 04-15-2019 11:11 AM

Great.

Snookerd 04-15-2019 12:02 PM

Just got off the phone with the hotel ($119 night booked online) and the place next door where we dock our boats and park our vehicles / trailers. Wednesday night $50 for dockage and $10 per day parking w/ trailer. Only available for 5-7 more people (you have to tell me if you want dockage and trailer parking, NOT the hotel!!!). Hotel phone # 561-747-9085

Do you guys have a weather contingency plan? Mel and I had to use ours and Vida worked with us with some wiggle room on both ends of my trip dates. Planning for such kept me from pushing into bad weather for lack of options.

Daisy chain behind the Viking mother ship.

As Denny has said many times here, anything out of the north quadrant is a no go.
I have days on either end.

Snookerd 04-24-2019 07:08 AM

Dang it!! We’ve been found out GFS!

DonV 04-24-2019 08:14 AM

Dang and I bought us some nice heavy duty tow ropes to tie up in a SeaCraft daisy chain to the the Viking for the trip over! I figured Ken would have no problem seeing us back there from the air conditioned salon sipping some foo-foo drink!! Well Sandy on to plan "B" :)

Ken-Two thoughts:
1.)15 to 20+mph winds the whole week- Hold in Jupiter/travel the "ditch" north toward Sebastian
2.)15 to 20+mph winds for a day or two around departure time or return time - leave early/late or return early/late

Not crossing with any Northern wind direction. Hoping for 5-10mph West wind on the way over and 5-10mph East wind on the way back!!

Snookerd 04-24-2019 03:24 PM

4 SeaCrafts committed to going.....We have room for a few more.
