Wait a minute Denny, " a LOT more comfortable???!!! GFS had only the very best picnic table to sleep on! It had everything you could want, level end to end - side to side, extra helping of left over food spread around his table from the cookout feast to attract varmints for sleeping partners, open air bathroom no more than two steps from the end of the table when "nature calls", nice cross ventilation for any escaping gas from the fried fish, I mean with all respect, I'm sure your yacht is really top of the line........but let's face it Sandy knows how to pick outdoor accommodations!!! Nothing but Four Star resort sleeping for him!! :)

gofastsandman 01-26-2022 09:12 PM

12 square feet of flat is all I ever need.

Well we had a rather big surprise this weekend, though not totally unexpected. Our oldest Granddaughter announced she's getting married. Unfortunately it's the same weekend as the gathering and I will not be able to come. I'm not going to get with Kyle to cancel my reservation until hopefully someone takes it over by the first week in April. If I remember correctly the charge on my CC was around $370 for Friday and Saturday nights. I'm sure someone will take the reservation. When they do I'll coordinate the reservation change then with Davis House.

Congrats! But we will miss you & Deb.

NoBones 02-14-2022 09:12 PM

Good for you Don & Deb ! Have fun... Now who is going to be the fry master ?
Or we can just wing it and have it catered .:)

Snookerd 02-24-2022 09:00 PM

Don-Congrats to both of you guys! We will definitely miss you. We may need to go buy some fish because we are now going to be short the standard amount of dolphin being caught!

DonV 03-29-2022 10:39 AM

"Last call, for alcohol"

Last chance for someone to take my room, the Davis Inn website still shows they are fully booked that weekend. I'll be cancelling around April 2nd.

nestorpr 03-29-2022 10:56 AM

DonV, how much is the room?

DonV 03-29-2022 12:19 PM

Reserved for Friday and Saturday and I think it was just at $370, I'll double check.

DonV 03-29-2022 12:23 PM

Yikes, I was way off. Checked my CC statement for December and it was $337.92. Sorry.

nestorpr 03-30-2022 01:51 AM

Thanks! I think I'll pass for now, I'm only 30 minutes away anyhow.

DonV 03-30-2022 09:34 AM

No problem! The room is now on the "open market"......... :)

Is your room on the first or second floor?

DonV 03-30-2022 11:23 AM

Jim I have no idea. it's a "suite, 1 king bed", the receipt does not give me a room number. As of one minute ago.

Dang, we’re gonna be Hushpuppy-less! This stinks. Don’t forget to get a goat or some chickens or something for the trade. In the Islands, Grand Daughters bring a pretty good trade!

Well T-3 I've got two bags of Atkinson's hush puppy mix and two bags of fish fry mix I bought for the gathering months ago! I guess I better get catching fish and frying! :)

Caught my first snook on the north jetty in `81 there.

The Monstah hole is no joke. Lots of fishermen/ gals on the jetties as well.

Mind their lines. No need to lose a prop shaft seal/s.

Snookerd 04-10-2022 05:30 PM

Roll call…..Who’s a part of our motley crew? We Will be there Thursday through Sunday.

NoBones 04-10-2022 09:39 PM

bumpdraft 04-11-2022 09:57 AM

See you there.

Capt Terry 04-11-2022 11:21 AM

Thursday to Sunday for McKnights - Casey & Teresa

Bushwacker 04-11-2022 01:15 PM

Planning to get there Friday afternoon to check out a couple of nearby anchorages I found in Navionics. (Need depth of at least 5’; if anyone knows of any good spots, please send coordinates!) Will use the dingy to attend festivities. Folks are also welcome aboard Dream Seeker if you let me know ahead of time.
Denny

skippertee 04-13-2022 09:50 PM

Hope day trippers are welcome, 65 Bowrider and myself will be coming on Saturday to see the gang. Is there anything we can bring for the evening festivities?

nestorpr 04-14-2022 02:00 AM

I'll definitely try to make it all 3 days.

77SceptreOB 04-14-2022 06:51 PM

Teresa and I will be arriving Thursday evening and staying through the weekend. I'm bringing my boat this time. Looking forward to seeing everyone!

Jim

Capt Terry 04-15-2022 11:34 AM

Anita & I will be staying with friends near Sebastian on Wed and Thurs nights. Probably arrive at the gathering early to mid afternoon on Friday. Anita is planning on bringing deviled eggs and a Dump Cake (she doesn't like that name), but it is delicious! Looking fwd to it and sorry we will miss Don & Deb and Mel and Ken. However, looking forward to meeting some new SeaCraft friends.

NoBones 04-15-2022 07:22 PM

Patti & I will be arriving Friday, staying till Sunday. Plan to steam a big pot
of fresh shrimp with my homemade dip. Also will cook up a pot of white rice, black beans and chopped onion. Eric & Cindy (Natural High) will be the fry master's to take over Don's favorite duty. He is bringing fish just in case no one catches any before Saturday evening's "pot luck"..
The best part is we have done this so many times before the planning just falls into place on it's own.

I have had a rough week with as I call it an emotional hangover from lil' Kenny's passing.

See ya soon...

DonV 04-16-2022 11:22 AM

"He is bringing fish just in case no one catches any before Saturday"

Say what??? Say it ain't so!! Impossible :)

gofastsandman 04-16-2022 07:13 PM

My room will be available Friday night if someone wants it.

Work has thrown me a curve.
The owner was diagnosed with bladder cancer before Christmas.
He was doing an ultrasound treatment. Last week his pet scan revealed
bad news. His first chemo treatment was yesterday. I have gone through this
and will help him as much as I can.

Four of us run the shop and we have five crews doing installs. Greg took another position
just over a month ago.

Pete handles estimates all day. We are short.

See everyone Saturday.
Do you want Welly or smoked brisket?

gfs

Marshtackie 04-17-2022 05:39 PM

Marsha and I will be there Thursday through Sunday. Looking forward to seeing you SeaCraft Scalawags!

bumpdraft 04-19-2022 03:30 PM

Denny, might want to bring a few anchors.

gofastsandman 04-20-2022 07:34 PM

I have a line on stone crab...
$12 lb for mostly large...

nestorpr 04-21-2022 12:40 AM

Guys, this'll be my first gathering and have no idea what to bring, any suggestions?
