Looking good there Mr Kent. Are you going to put a boot stripe ? I tried putting an adhesive type on mine and it lasted about 36 hours before it started to fall off :) Best to go painted.

Looks great! After the paint is hard you can hit it with a medium rubbing compound and knock off the orange peel . . . it'll shine like a mirror.

looking good that blue will look sweet with the tan window and top!

Looking good Terry. If you already said, I missed it, what paint did you go with?

Dave I used a paint called Insignia Brilliance...it is only sold through distributors like Fiberlay. It is an Awl Grip type paint. The reason for this was Awl Grip and Immron would not hold up under the water line for any reasonable length of time. Like no more than four or five days. I tested Insignia for 30 days and it had no break down so that is why I chose it. I was thinking ahead like if we went to the Bahamas for 2 weeks or so.

Strick I will boot stripe it with tape first to see what size and pattern I like (or what Sharon likes ) Then maybe a paint job.

Very surprised that the stripe did not stay on. I was in the vinyl graphics business and we very seldom had a problem...the tape you used has to be very old. Sometime the rolls sit on the shelf and don't get rotated. I would definitely return it.

Shrimp...I think I will get it wet a few times before undertaking that task  (however I did wet sand and buff the gas line tower and you are right it is a mirror)

That's what I am hoping for Mike...;)

Terry,
As usual, you've done your research. That's the same reason I used gelcoat below the chine on mine. There's still some Awlgrip in the water above the chine, but I've had the boat moored for as long as a week without problems so far.

Terry,

your doing a great job....paint looks great! Also, very very impressed with your craftmanship on the wooden window frames. Not long before you'll be on the water!

For the life of me I can't figure out how to rotate this stuff...I do it in photo bucket or in picasa and yet when I bring it in here it is always screwy...

Just to clarify my post....the black and white logo is what I am talking about. That is a insert into the original (gunmetal) steering nut cover.

Nice Detail !
And the hub was made out of ???
