yeah . . . somehow I don't think you guys need to be worried about these threads stopping for sometime . . . just call it a hunch.

Strick,

Awesome work! You're giving me some great ideas for improvements to my '73 20cc (Same color scheme )

Can you give me the link to the thread when you did your 23cc? I can't seem to find it:D

Thanks!

Lloyd

Re: Here We Go Again

Lloyd- I re did the 23 back in 2003. There was a series of multiple threads rather then one big thread like this one has turned out to be. At any rate the pics to those threads are no longer there but I do have most of the pictures on my server still. Here are a couple links with all the pictures I took during the restore and many other Seacraft pictures as well. BTW I like your boat. Hows the Suzuki 140 treating you?

This restoration project is truly a work of art. So different from the quick and inept work seen so often in boatyards. The divergent posts really make me miss my school days in northern cal - 2 hours from the mountains and trout - two hours from the ocean - big catfish in the canal.

Re: Here We Go Again

Strick,

I love the 140 Suzuki, 400 hrs without a hiccup. My boat isn't in the same league as yours, it's alittle on the rough side, but fully functional. I've been chipping away at my restoration with fishing/diving/family outtings mixed in. I am thinking in a year or two to hunt down a 23cc hull and do it your way. Then I can go to Seacraft heaven! ;)

Looking forward to your next progress report!

Phenomenal work Strick! I don't want to look at your thread too often though, because it reminds me of how much work I have left to do on mine. Do you mind if I ask what equipment you used to paint?

Re: Here We Go Again

I borrowed Bigshrimpins Harbor Freight spray gun for the awlgrip. I have a Husky which is not worth a darn that I used to spray the first couple coats of primer originally. The orifice is too small on the Husky. I have a 30 gal compressor and kept the pressure at about 70psi which seems to work for me. There is a water separator in line between the compressor and the spray gun. You need a good respirator when spraying Awlgrip. A hood, tyvec suite, and goggles as well. Here is the last three heavy coats of primer before the final sanding:

Tomorrow I'll be spraying the interior walls.

Looking totally great Strick...

Are you using a cartridge respirator with organic vapor cartridges....or a respirator with forced air supply???
