Are you using a cartridge respirator with organic vapor cartridges....or a respirator with forced air supply???

The first one. I keep the respirator in a zip lock bag when I'm not using it as that will help to prolong the life of the cartridges.

Bunch of pictures from yesterday. The weather was slightly overcast therefore the pictures are not that good of quality.... plus I'm no photographer.

The interior and consel were sprayed with awlgrip. The color is 50/50 off white and eggshell white.

I still don't have lights in the shop so I had to use my tripod lights.

Taping for the boot stripe. This took a lot of time to make it look right.

http://www.casdvm.com/photos/20sf/DSCN7181.JPG

The boot stripe was hand painted with interlux jet black boot striping paint

After everything was dry I took it outside in what sunlight there was so I could see how it looked. Thee are some areas under the gunnels that I had a hard time reaching with the spray gun and they will have to be rolled in a few days when it's safe to tape off around those areas.

Theres Bigshrimpin working on his Master Angler. Hmmm whats that I see off to the right...looks like a receiver for another boat trailer?

http://www.casdvm.com/photos/20sf/P9220223.JPG

Not much done today on the boat. Too many things to do around the house. I spent several hours taking down the walmart swiming pool cleaning it up and putting it away. Mowed the 1 acre of grass that I have and broke another sprinkler with the mower in the process. I got some gophers that are making my lawn lumpy. Gopher season starts this week again.

I did manage to start cutting the backing for the combing bolsters this evening. They still have to be cut to width and then sealed with epoxy, bolts installed and brought to the upholstery guy.

Thats it for now.

Re: Here We Go Again

Strick, are you going to roll the floor ? Or did you just shoot the sides waiting to do the floor in a separate step?

Looking great...I love the black bootstripe, adds quite a bit of distinction to the boat.

I saw BigShrimpin's boat and I realize my Master Angler isint the only one with a throttle to the left and wheel to the right. I thought mine was modified by the owner to be like that......it was a little awkward so I filled the holes and will change it to wheel on left, throttle right.

Whats he planning to do with the Master Angler. Boy, let me tell you that inner liner is a major pain in the ass to fair out...it took lots of labor to get it looking right.

Still undecided about the floor. I may Linex it. They can match any color I want.

I never liked that set up either. Thats how they came from the factory. I did just what you are talking about on my 23

Thanks Dave. The shop makes things so easy.

Moving along on the project. There were some areas that needed more paint. I did not bring the white up high enough when I originally painted the bottom.

http://www.casdvm.com/photos/20sf/DSCN7196.JPG

The underside of the gunnel's

http://www.casdvm.com/photos/20sf/DSCN7197.JPG

hatches were prepped for paint. They were primed and all pin holes filled with quick fair

I got one of my rod holders in so I was able to cut some holes for those. There will be 6 total on the cap.

http://www.casdvm.com/photos/20sf/DSCN7209.JPG http://www.casdvm.com/photos/20sf/DSCN7211.JPG

I needed to tie off the seams around the fuel hatch. Back in the summer I tried doing this with some 1 inch cloth but it kicked too fast due to the heat and looked like junk so I sanded it all down and started over again. I had some stitched mat that my buddy gave me and I cut it into strips and epoxied it in place.

http://www.casdvm.com/photos/20sf/DSCN7212.JPG http://www.casdvm.com/photos/20sf/DSCN7213.JPG http://www.casdvm.com/photos/20sf/DSCN7224.JPG

Sanded down, quick faired, sanded again and primed.

http://www.casdvm.com/photos/20sf/DSCN7231.JPG http://www.casdvm.com/photos/20sf/DSCN7233.JPG

painted the hatches

http://www.casdvm.com/photos/20sf/DSCN7228.JPG

The bigger hatches will get non skid so only the perimeter gets paint.

Drain tubes and Garboard drains installed

I takes hours to tape off for the nonskid. I taped around each piece of hardware.

http://www.casdvm.com/photos/20sf/DSCN7241.JPG

Sanding everything down

http://www.casdvm.com/photos/20sf/DSCN7244.JPG http://www.casdvm.com/photos/20sf/DSCN7245.JPG

Finished non skid. It's Awl grip off white mixed with griptex. I decided to use off white which is the same color as the inside of the boat. The floor will be a contrast color.

http://www.casdvm.com/photos/20sf/DSCN7257.JPG http://www.casdvm.com/photos/20sf/DSCN7254.JPG http://www.casdvm.com/photos/20sf/DSCN7252.JPG

Prepping the walking surfaces for non skid. Lots of taping and the floor had to be sanded again to clean it up.

Theres my nephew Gary. He runs a Linex dealership. This is the kinda kid you want working for you. He runs the whole show.

http://www.casdvm.com/photos/20sf/PA020230.JPG

A small piece of 1/4 inch tape with a wire in it is layed down next to the tape I have applied. Then they tape over that with some 1 inch tape and then they have to mask off the entire boat. So in essence they go over everything three times with tape. The floor is sanded lightly with 80 grit cleaned and then the Linex is applied.

Re: Here We Go Again

That looks great Strick. I'll be priming the interior tomorrow...then I'm sure there will be little mistakes to fix so I'll do this and prime the final coat. I'm hoping to have color on everything by November.

I like the Linex....maybe I'll do it on my boat. I was debating whether I should two-tone the deck like you did....I'm still undecided on that though. I might do moondust on white.

I thought you were going to leave the non-skid off the topsides. Good thing you put the non-skid down though.
