Re: Free Seacraft and Trailer
I am trying to follow who is getting the boat and who is willing to assist in transport and who will assist in rebuilding. My head is spinning.
Who is going to own it? Where will it live? Who will be helping on it. I live in Boynton and will volunteer to help where I can. Can someone bring me up to speed in English? If so, please type slowly. Thanks, BuzzCutt |
Re: Free Seacraft and Trailer
Here's my deal: I'm looking into getting quotes from Boat haulers to bring the boat up north, haven't received anything yet. The problem that I think I will run into is getting the boat and trailer onto the big rig's trailer. It would probably have to be moved to a facility that has equipment to lift the whole package onto the big trailer. Also the cost is going to be 2 - 4K I'm predicting. I hate to say it but this might be too much to take on right now. Reality is setting in. I wish I had a more reliable pickup, I would use my 23's trailer and drive down and pick it up. Another thing is that with my work schedule I wouldn't be able to do anything until the middle of April.
If anyone else really wants it, I'll step aside. If nothing happens by April 15th I'll jump back in the mix. This boat is in rough shape, but probably one of a kind. Cliff, you can move me down the list of potential takers. Thanks for the information you provided over the phone. If nothing happens let me know. Rich Update: I just received a quote for $1,500 from Miami to the Cape. HMMMMMM.....But I need someway to lift the package on the trailer? Any ideas? |

Re: Free Seacraft and Trailer
Ben,
If you get it, I would be interested in knowing your plans. Are you planning a center console, a cabin boat or are you going retro the whole way. I work in Riviera Beach and live in Boynton. between work and family, I could volunteer a few hours here and there assisting. I know a little of boats, less of fiberglass work, but willing to help sand, paint, lay up glass and generally do some labor, if your interested in it. Buzzcutt |
Re: Free Seacraft and Trailer
buzzcut - didnt know you were soo close, im plannin to make it a center console (hope that doesnt offend anyone) with a teak console pod i scored from an old merritt (i think it came from a merritt, could be a rybo), it looks likes its rigged for twins but id deffinetly run a single, and since it needs stringers and the works i could put fuel and fish boxes wherever but deffinetly gonna keep the livewell above deck. if we get it, it will really be my little brothers project with me guiding him, but im sure he'll need all the help he can get.
ps. where do you work? |
Re: Free Seacraft and Trailer
I am a sales rep at Larry Smith Electronics. Been here fifteen years so far. I try to keep a low profile so as not to offend too many people. I have strong opinions and my wife tells me I can be abrasive.
Do you still have the 20' Seafari? |
Re: Free Seacraft and Trailer
Like I said if it is still around come April 15th I will get back in the mix.
