update:
The bottom paint was stripped using Cardinal Yacht Sales in Somers Points NJ Farrow System. It was my first time using the Farrow System and I think I did a pretty good job. I was lucky enough to have access to this amazing machine. The machine was great it saved alot of time sanding layers of bottom paint off. I found a few areas that will be repaired before applying epoxy barrier coat. its nice to start the season off with a nice clean bottom.

The green spots on the bottom is 3M vinylester putty to fill in any minoy scrapes and gashes. Not necessary but I want to do everything right and I know what I have underneath the bottom paint.

Lookin good. Pretty sweet you could use that to get the bottom off, crawling up under a trailer to sand is not fun.

Nice restore Lonesurfer, couple of questions...what rubrail did you use? Is it a Taco rubrail, if so can you share model number? Also your fuel tank....i'm wanting to get one for my project....can you share that info as well...Thanks..ur gonna have a nice ride when you're done!

Looks like a Taco V21-9613 to me. Could be wrong though. ;)

If it is what length sections did you buy your stainless insert in? You get it local or online?

That model # was correct above it comes in 20 foor pieces I had to get 3 so 60 foot total and I got 12' pieces of stainless 4 pieces. Its a hard rigid vinyl that doesn't roll up so its hard and expensive to ship. I was lucky enough to order it through a marina and didn't pay shipping as I have an agreement with them. I got everything for like $280 I think not bad. Alot of people don't go with it because of the expense to ship it but it really makes the boat and its a perfect fit. the size of the rubber or ridgid vinyl is 1 9/16" with 1/2 inch stainless insert hollowback.

Wow yeah, $280 is definitely a great price. Been shopping around for the black version but the shipping cost is killing me. Haven't been able to find it shipped to Va for less than $400 :mad:

I got the black in a roll with ss insert shipped less than $350 from rubrail.com. Go to craigslist Houston, TX for pics of the rubrail.

Like the fact that you are using the teak ,keeping some of the old style with a redo,I started varnishing my teak covering boards today, In fact I was going to drop in to see your boat. I was in Somers Pt to pick up varnish at west marine,,,We should have a in water get together this year, maybe at the Flying cloud resturant,I will try to put one together over the summer,,
