Sorry about that! I didn't realize that you where the payor, thought it was being done by someone for them selves in their shop. I reread the thread and saw there was a payor.
Ouch. Great looking work though.
May or June, they better get humpin! :-)

I don't like to see things done half-ass like so many others often do!
I chose to get it right on the first attempt so I have no issues in the future.
To each his own I guess and thanks for your concern regarding the finances of my SC.

Caymanboy 03-25-2013 03:05 PM

No, my apologies, no disrespect meant.
That is some beautiful work! Whomever is paying for it.

Calibogue 03-25-2013 03:41 PM

No worries, just sharing for the love of the ride!

cap off sf 20

Do you still got the cap off the 20? I dont have one for mine and would like to buy yours is you still have it even if it is in bad shape. Great rebuild! This is real close to how I want to do my 1971 20 sf. What year is yours? must be pre 72 due to the quad stringers. Looking good, let me know about the cap if you can if not I might have to do what you have done. Thanks Mike

I will be glad to check but I believe it has been chopped!

Thanks! Maybe I will get lucky and it will be sitting around. Let me know if is available, if not that will be ok too. I wouldn't mind have a full custom cap like yours but man that's a lot of work.

Any new pics to post?

billythekid 04-17-2013 09:28 PM

wow some impressive work, how many nida core panels have you gone through? the cap is all cored? did you flip it and glass underneath? I have seen a lot of glass work and done a lot myself and am jealous of your skills! are you using epoxy or poly vinyl?

Calibogue 04-26-2013 04:08 AM

Yes, everything is cored on this refit.
Once again, the only skills I add to the work is my vision of what I want as a finished product!
The only nidacore is under the gunwales.... The floor is divincil and the transom is coosaboard.
I wish I had time and knowledge to do this work myself as I am a hands on do it yourself kinda man.
I have too many projects as it is now and my hands are arthritic and the tendinitis in my forearms is horrific..... Not sure I woulda made it through if I had tried.
I am however ready to be done and anxious to hit the water.... The cobia have just arrived and tarpon will not be far behind.
I am told emphatically May but I will be happy with a early June completion.
More pics coming next week probably......
