Test drove a hydrasport once around 23' that just would not pound. It tended to list in the wind, but tabs would have fixed that.

Rode better through 2- 4' chop than any small boat I've been in since.
Better than the Mako I owned, better than the 25' Mako I rented, better than my Wellcraft V21'.

I haven't been in a Seacraft 23' but friend who has one told it's a good ride, but can also pound in certain angles.

The 25 Hydrosport is a great hull who many will defend as one of the best for it's size. To me they are a little ugly though and the sides are way to high to be practical for my application.

I will say that no hull is immune to pounding if the wave frequency is right. The northern Gulf off Northwest Florida with it's long stretches of shallow water has some of the worst wave frequency for boats under 30 feet there is. While at times my 23 amazes me in horrid weather I shouldn't be out in, it can also pound the fillings out of your teeth in a tight 3 foot head sea when the back falls off one before the next one can take it's place. Contrary to popular belief and sadly to say there are no magical sea fairies living in the variable deadrise that cushion SeaCrafts from the laws of gravity and physics.

i still think for it's size class SeaCrafts rise to the top for ride in the widest variety of conditions. If you find one and fit it to suite your needs, I doubt you will ever regret one second of ownership. And like many here that have loved an sold, regret and buy again. I can't think of a more loyal group of boat owners than those whom own or has owned a SeaCraft. It is some delicious koolaide that I will never grow tired of.

That sounds more realistic....and of course, little boats ride like little boats - limitations.

The Hydrasport doesn't carry mystique like Seacraft.....Reg.....Contender, but I agree - it's a heck of a good riding boat, and I actually like the high sides.

I'm just not interested in another center console at this particular time. Really enjoy my cuddy, and I've always admired the 23' Seacraft Sceptre / Tsunami appearance.

I went from a 80 Mako 228 To a 77 23 Sceptre and the Seacraft is a much better sea boat.
I would have to slow down for a head sea in the Mako or get pounded to death.The Seacraft is opposite,you speed up to smooth out the ride.It also feels like a much bigger boat than the Mako.Everyone I have taken offshore with it is impressed with the ride.

The Mako I had was a great boat but the Seacraft is superior.
