Stopped by the Flotilla Club again on Sun. Saw Commander Mark and said hi. His mom is ill and I don`t want to be a pest. They had their meeting this past Mon. I called today and he will get my message again. Not much more to add.

Man-All I hear is crickets. The 1st family of SeaCraft will be there, along with at least 2 moderators, Spidercrab, ect..C'mon people.....Camp for free on the west side of the island and join the fun! My crew will be diving, fishing, and eating and drinking all weekend! Only watching the Chevy Florida Insider Fishing Report is NOT how a SeaCraft owner defines his life. Lets make this happen!

I have a plan B for trucks and rigs if the F.C. does not pan out. I hope to bring offerings of DoDo`s to sweeten the pot this weekend. They are here now. I need a trailer count. I have 5-Oh, Mr Dog, 442, Snookerd, and the Slacker. :D :D :D I want to take the lead on the tourney! K.D.W.? Fun fish? CG award? Kid`s category? Bent prop? I have already won this year`s award last Sunday at the ramp....... thank you. Bobby Soles got it back to me in a jif. Ole style sst 15x16. Thanks Gillie! Cheers, GFS Locals are always welcome to join. |

CG award? Kid`s category?" Whatever you want to give me will be fine :D We can get permits for Phil Foster, not sure if they cost but can't be much. |

Motor test went very well last night - had to put an oil alarm module on - messed up the running of the motor too, big time. So both are working fine - $275  Tried a used one for $30 and it was dead too PIA.
Now I can focus on real stuff |

New cross members,ss hardware, bunk supports, hubs, bearings, spindle savers, wheels `n tires, wiring, carpet, and bearing buddies t.m. The t.m is important. Accept no substitute. I don`t like hot crunchy bearings for lunch. Slayed the banded rudderfish yesterday afternoon. Wind turned and laid down. We must have had 60 around the boat. A Cobia popped up and I put one on his nose , but the B.R. beat it to it. Couldn`t count backwards from three. Stopped by the club with offerings, but it was 6.30 and they were closed. |

What has not been addressed to my knowledge, or lack thereof, is 2 stroke tuning. I have a whole new learning curve to hear with my motor. She seems to like it and so do I. Lots of positive trim. Cheers, GFS |
Re: Peanut Island Gathering 6/17-6/18 2011
Ok, spoke w/ Kathy today and you can park at Phil Foster for your stay if you have a reserved site.
You must provide her with your truck`s brand, model, color, and tag#. Also boat brand, model, color,Fl #, and tag #. I think it`s 10 clams a day. Info needed at least 1 wk. before reservation. I`m also working on another parking plan. Cheers, GFS |
Re: Peanut Island Gathering 6/17-6/18 2011
Ok plan three has been approved. There is a grass lot next to the shop where I work and we`re in. Locked and fenced. Right next to 95 and Blue Heron. Hopefully, the FC will step up. Got blown out this weekend,so no offerings.
Cheers, GFS |

Re: Peanut Island Gathering 6/17-6/18 2011
I have an idea on shirts. I was talking to Bushwacker today about it. On the back of the shirt all the races that have been won with a SeaCraft. On the front - the CSC.com logo and the MoeslySeaCraft.com logo. And the American Flag tied into the background on the back of the shirt. Thoughts????

Re: Peanut Island Gathering 6/17-6/18 2011
Hummmmm......coool idea! You sure there's enough room on the back of the shirt??? That's a lot of race winners. :)

Re: Peanut Island Gathering 6/17-6/18 2011
Stopped by the F.C. with offerings again on Sun....but, alas I`m having trouble with their hours again. About 3.30 and the club was sleepy.
I know many day trippers and other lurkers may show up. Please chime in. Capt. Steve from Florida Sport Fishing Mag. thinks he can make it. Let`s give him a reason please. Saturday has Boat Pix on hand and others can shoot a frame or two. He`s just back from a trip to Big Papi`s homeland. Shhhh! I`ve heard `tell that an `ole 27 may appear? Maybe an old 21 not quite ready for the ball? Looking great, BTW and a great idea for the folding flaps for motah access. Both entries would be inspirational!!! Chime in locals! Let`s get the folks at Boat Pix up early! Cheers, GFS |
Re: Peanut Island Gathering 6/17-6/18 2011
I don't get up early even when camping, I have a cot - just say'in
I heard bait was everywhere around the island and Munyan, I am hoping Raccoon Boy needs some $ for hunting. So about 10 he should have decent handle on where they are :D |

http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z...d/P6050005.jpg Shadow and I took a ride over there a couple months ago to get some pics so y'all would know what to expect. http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z...sandbar001.jpg Click here to see a slide show of what we found! This is by far one of the most beautiful parks and campgrounds on the east coast, located right on the beach on the east side of the island where you'll get a breeze right off the inlet. Turquoise green water with 30-50' visibility in the inlet at high tide and up to 120' on beautiful offshore reefs that are only about a mile off the beach! (You have to drift dive because of the current, which will about tear your ears off if you try to anchor!) The gulf stream is only 3 miles out, so it's a short run for a good shot at dolphin, wahoo, kings, and sails if you like to troll or lots of reefs for bottom fishing! Good snook fishing in the inlet at night! Can't beat it for variety and convenience! Doesn't get much easier than this folks! If anyone prefers to stay in a motel, let me know, as there are several options for that too! Denny Shadow loves that big sandbar! http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z...atsndbr009.jpg |
Re: Peanut Island Gathering 6/17-6/18 2011
I think that is my campsite just past that first pic, right next to the water - unfortunately Big Ol'Fat Houndog has been axed from the trip - way too much food around which makes him lose his mind :D

Re: Peanut Island Gathering 6/17-6/18 2011
Whoa..........I think PBC should upgrade their web pictures to Dennys. Great recon! I can't wait. Sure is a different island than the one I grew up with.

Re: CSC Florida Gathering 2011 - Need Ideas
I'm "here" right now, just bought that wonderful $4.19/gal non ethanol gas!!!! Can't be any flatter out there on the water, however the tarpon had lock jaw all day today!!!! Or, I just suck at this! Poop!!
Oh yeah, the Cuban restaurant out front of Caloosa (Habanos) does a nice job of "cooking your catch", much cheaper than Lazy Days. |
Re: CSC Florida Gathering 2011 - Need Ideas
Hi DonV
I have been going there for approx 25 years and loving every trip. That Cuban restraint does a pretty good job. I am surprised about the Poons they usually love to play between 4:00 and 7:00 PM each day. Sometimes you can get some live Mullet either from the bait shop or on the sandy beach in front of the pool. There are also some Poons in the marina at night to catch. We lake the Mutton snapper fishing out off the ledge with live bait till approx 1030: AM then head off shore for either Pins or Tuna around the 409 Hump. Let me know how you fishing trip comes along. Re: CSC Florida Gathering 2011 - Need Ideas
Naw.....I'm using the flea market hooks!! Actually I think I'm not holding my mouth correctly! Funny thing is I did not see any tarpon caught today, saw plenty just cruising around, lots of folks casting to them, however as we all know they can be such a pain in the ass!! Next to bonefish, I hate tarpon the most. :)

Re: CSC Florida Gathering 2011 - Need Ideas
I had a tarpon once as a pier rat. Tow boat comes out on a weekday and I whistle... he stops and we discuss, he goes out, not on a call mind you, and spins my line on his prop coming in 2 mins. later. Seal kit and slide hammer.
