No pics was too busy fishing. I'm about to start using GPS on my daughter. Is there a smart phone app for that? :)

Matter of fact there is!

joey 11-04-2012 07:23 PM

Chuck, Did you catch? Did you get a chance to go over to the east side of the state?

strick 11-05-2012 12:39 AM

Hey Joey

The fishing was great! Although we rented a boat for the week I mostly fished the beach. Got 3 Snook the first evening and never saw another after that. Caught zillions of lady fish on 4# test light spinning outfit. Caught some mackerel and a bunch of other fish that I could not identify. There was TONS of bait cruising up and down the beach every day. Had the place practically to our selves. Got to meet a couple of our fellow seacrafters but never made it off the island as we were having too much fun! The week went by too fast :(

strick

joey 11-05-2012 06:38 AM

Awesome! Glad you guys had a good time and caught some fish. I bet Ladyfish on 4 lb was a blast....jumping all around like little baby tarpon.

strick 11-16-2012 08:10 PM

Making a little more progress. Outer hull sides are painted. Bracket with final primer. I hope to get the bracket mounted this weekend and the boat on it's new trailer. Then I will concentrate on the inside.

So Lisa talked you into the blue? :D What color blue is it?

strick 11-17-2012 11:16 AM

Yea :) At first she wanted it painted red but I put a veto to that. It's Awlgrip “Carinthia Blue” and was a bitch to spray. Next time I'm gonna try using Awlcraft. You will see every blemish with this color so I'm afraid to take it outside :)

strick

martin 11-17-2012 09:12 PM

Yea there isnt much forgiveness on the awgrip.. I really like the awlcraft. As it is easier to apply and then blend and or wet sand and buff..... I just dropped a pretty penny for the alwfair and high build primer.. But it is worth it imho.. Strick ,, looks good from my house..

strick 11-18-2012 09:28 AM

The color does not cover well until you get to coat 5-6. I was using the standard spray reducer and got a couple runs on the first go around. So I re sanded the hull and sprayed it again. The second time I used the fast spray reducer. I've got a fair amount or experience spraying awlgrip now and dont know that it was got any easier. You really have to pay attention to outside temperature and of course prep work. It's as good as it's going to get for a hack like me. More pictures coming soon. Bill and I almost have the bracket mounted on the hull. Ken, will take outside soon :)

Happy Birthday Bigshrimpin

I was going to mention that...but I did not want to hurt your feelings,LOL :D

strick 11-19-2012 10:39 AM

Terry it's OK to hurt my feelings :) I knew that going into this paint job but decided to try it anyway. I let Lisa pick the colors....I'm just the employee. It passes the 5 foot test but at 3 feet you can see a few areas of over spray but you really have to look to find them. Then there is the small run on the port transom corner :)

Bill came over Sat and Sun to help me with getting the bracket onto the boat. I had bought 3.5 " bolts but a couple areas called for 4 " bolts to we mocked it up on Sat and then Sun we had it mounted in about 30 minutes. THANKS AGAIN BILL FOR ALL YOUR HELP THIS WEEKEND!

Bill working on the bracket for the 23 tsunami.

I wish mine looked as "bad" as yours

I do plan to repaint the sides now in the winter time to a lighter shade of blue

I want to go with the original "sky blue" color it had before

Great job on the rebuild!!

martin 11-19-2012 08:55 PM

Very ,very nice.......

joey 11-25-2012 09:09 AM

Damn Strick, boat looks awesome! If you ever get tired of horses, you can come paint carolina hulls at Sinepuxent Boatworks.

Rlbol 11-26-2012 08:52 PM

The blue is a very nice sharp looking color!
Congratulations on another beautiful boat!

strick 11-26-2012 11:04 PM

Thanks Fellas!! Got the bracket painted over the weekend and now working on the inside of the boat. More pictures coming soon.

He made grey look sweet. Who can do that? I had horrible thoughts.
What a RaceHorse he is.

Man I love SeaCrafts in navy, brings the nose out so well - fish'in boat ? put some nice pony's on it and go annoy some HydroStreams with it on the lakes, it will run and they never expect us LOL

That design in a 20 is really bad ass looking, the 23 loses that because of the size

Slow going over here but I did manage to get the top cap and inside of the boat primed and painted this weekend.

This is Awlgrip egg shell white. It's hard to tell from the pictures which were taken after dark but it should help reduce some of the glare on the windshield. Everything went well with the paint job despite the temperatures which were in the mid 50's today.

Next on the list is the get the hatches all primed and painted. Non skid on the deck. I will leave the same pattern as the factory. I sprayed linex on my 20 sf and I love it but I dont want to part with the coin for that on this boat as I have a bunch of paint left over and I might as well use it up. The bilge will get a coat of white gelcoat. I guess I'm ready to start buying some boat jewelry. More money....

Since our beloved and faithful cat Stinker passed away a couple months ago we figured it was time for another addition to our family. This is Buddy and he is a handful at 5 1/2 months old. He goes to work with me every day.

Strick, you are a machine!!:)

I like your new side kick!
Over the Thanksgiving holiday we had a new addition show
up. Malnourished and looking pretty sad...:(
She warmed up pretty quick and has not stopped eating or
drinking since her arrival. She has an appointment with the
vet this coming Thursday. Going to get her fixed and checked out!
We named her "Pumpkin" and now the offical barn cat!
Poor thing had a previous broken tail and top of her ear bit off..
She will not leave the barn even with the door left open..

McGillicuddy 12-10-2012 12:48 PM

Hi Ken,
Regarding Pumpkin, you'll probably find he's already fixed. Trimmed ear-tip is a tell-tale used by rescue groups when they neuter strays... He's gonna love your facility. We had a couple that Susie could never find and I'd always find them crashed in the Seafari or 21 v-berths. Lucky Pumpkin to find such a cool home.:)

McGillicuddy 12-10-2012 01:13 PM

strick,
goes without saying but here's more applause from the peanut gallery:cool:

Any idea who makes that pivoting bow stem roller on your trailer? `

strick 12-10-2012 08:11 PM

Gil I think that the pivoting roller is factory from Shorelander. I'll look and see if it has any markings on it and get back to you if it does.

Ken- Nice of that cat to adopt you guys I'm sure she will have you trained in no time :) On the ear tipping it is usually the left ear that gets tipped when the cat gets altered but being that is a Florida kitty anything is possible :) so just run your finger over her belly and see if you can feel an sutures under the skin. If not then she may have to get fixed.

BigLew 12-12-2012 07:11 AM

Ken,

If your Pumpkin turns out anything like ours, she will be an "honest to goodness, I love you Friend!"

We had one just like that, but the long hair version. She would cuddle right up close, like on our pillow on the bed and start to purr. Boy, could she PURR and loudly! I took to calling her EVINRUDE.

She went out one night a couple of days before Christmas and never was seen agian. Pobably a fox. They were around pretty thick that year. I still miss her and the times we could have had with her.
