Pfffft.

My Motel would leave you looking like a French Canadian looking for beach sand to shave her armpits.

The ride for my Slacker is sweet now. Sharing of knowledge. How many slips?

my numbers are right out of gulf harbors, she would enjoy maybe shopping at the Sponge Docks while you go fishing, lots of neat stuff there

Danny I know the feeling, threatened my guys with buying mid-eighties evinrude after the latest- trim pump

No worry... George Zimmerman's attorneys are free at the moment!

DonV 09-19-2013 07:57 AM

You need to be careful Danny!!! I know you and you are not "Hispanic-white" (whatever that is) so you might have a tougher time getting off. However if you have already murdered the first two mechanics and got away with it, the third should be easy. :)

That should be a tight Motah with some understanding. Post more please.

I`m in for a room and a slip.

I will drag Wide Open over to fish with friends and go diving.
Yummy,

eggsuckindog 09-19-2013 10:38 PM

Lots and lots of hog snapper everywhere

DonV 09-21-2013 08:43 AM

Hey ESD, back on post #94 you mentioned the $6 parking at Anclote. Can you buy those passes in advance or is it one of those "first come, first served" things. And....I see from Google earth there is a patch of grass at the end of the Ramada's parking lot....maybe trailer parking?

DonV 09-21-2013 10:59 AM

Oh yeah, one more thing. I've changed my airline tickets and will be back home in time for the gathering, however the wife is staying the whole time with the family in TX. Soooo....I've got an extra bed in the hotel room and extra space in the boat if anyone might be thinking of going alone. Let me know if you might want to $hare.

Planning to stay on the boat out at Anclote, but I might want to take you up on that extra bed if we get lots of rain! Denny

Islandtrader 09-21-2013 07:17 PM

OK I am booked :D Arrive on thursday and leave on sunday...if fishing is good and weather is good stay until monday.

Right now plans are to hook up with Denny at Ft. DE Soto state park and then boat up to Anclote...unless weather or other ??? Then tow the boat up closer and drop in there.

Snookems, why are we your friends not in the loop here??? Bad pun intended as many rings
may need to be recharged... Most shops are run by Chum Grinders. Call BRP tech support first. My manual is at work with my contact numbers. I have friends who know more than I. Siri call Sandman. What are the issues?

A room with a great view? Trailer parking on site?

I am bringing the bent prop trophy and may be coaxed into another award of the site`s choice...

Cheers,
GFS

DonV - yes you purchase a parking pass for 5 or 6 - the machine will print a 3 day ticket also so no going back. I would think from Apollo Bch running with the guys from FDS might be an option.

Unless wind is ripping out the north Bellair ramp on East Bay Dr in largo is pretty sheltered run and still a decent drive, ramps are as good as FDS's. Just south of Clearwater Pass

Danny I might mention that Mike at American Marine is only a couple miles up 19 - and it will be fixed - maybe take up leave it and just pick it 11/1 - its already there. He and his partner (23 on here for sale) will probably be out anyway.

rcnight 09-23-2013 12:16 AM

Looks like I have to be at UF on Sept 29 for my daughter's Homecoming pageant --- so I was thinking I'd take the whole week off and if the 20 will fire up join all of you. What was/is the final word on rooms & slips at the Ramada?

DonV 09-23-2013 08:52 AM

Go back to post #154 for the info.

I am not married to FDS...just looking for a nice ramp and a easy tow to it. Its not like I have to boat 70 miles for fun.

So if clearwater works for a group ride that works for me. Safe trailer parking?

Safe yes, and plenty of room, not quite as big as FDS but just redone with 10 ramps. Quite a bit shorter boat ride and eliminates the long no wake zone. I will look but you would exit 275 at 686 (st pete-clearwater airport) I think and go straight west thru old downtown Largo, short ride. If its kinda rough I use that ramp for the Clearwater boat races

you guys in that group look at mapquest and decide if its an option, traffic would not be bad except I little spot where 688 and 686 split near the airport then clean.

Our dates are Oct 31 - Nov 1 -2

DonV 09-23-2013 03:45 PM

Google Earth says, in a straight line, it's 23 miles from Belleair ramp, 40 miles from Ft. Desoto.

kmoose 09-23-2013 04:06 PM

I'm going to put it on my calander. I live in Ocala and can stay in Hudson for free. If the weather is good I will drag the old girl down there for the party. I could even make room for a diver or two but gags will be out then.

eggsuckindog 09-23-2013 04:09 PM

Sounds about right, its a straight line from Bellair right up the ICW but it misses the long NWZ from Johns Pass to Bellair. My point is the drive north from Bellair is on US19, not bad really. Either way you have to exit at 688/686 from 275 and go that way, and the ramp is real close to 19 and East Bay Dr. (686)

kmoose - Gags are open from July 1 to Dec 3 and will be thicker than flies in Nov, which is why they close them in the winter - we can catch them then

bbh57 09-23-2013 04:22 PM

Seems much easier to just go up 75 to.SR 56/54 then west to New Port Richey and avoid Pinellas.

19 isn't bad, its designed to move an incrediable amount cars - no reason to drive back to Tampa if your 2 miles from the water, for No Bones 56 would be the exit if he comes down 75 and maybe DonV since he is close 75.

If anyone wants to call me since I have driven to all these ramps feel free to call me - this is a new number 813 369 3256

Out where?

Season is open til 12/3, so not out of season. They're usually closer to shore in the fall and winter, right? I'm just confused by your statement, not unusual for me...

Regardless, my reservations at the Ramada are made. We'll be arriving Friday, hopefully by late morning. Sorry for asking if it's already been posted, but where's the closest ramp to the motel? Closest I could find was Anclote River Park.

Um Sir, the reason for editing is my sand dune.

I have not signed up yet, just my lack of administration prowess. Any rooms with a block and tackle, a swivel, and shore power?

Thanks for the feedback and offers of assistance fellow 2 stroke brethren! I have had a glimpse into what Islandtrader must have experienced over the years with his museum quality 21.....SeaCrafts and patience do not go together. I will running soon I hope....I would love to be there for the gathering.

That is probably the closest, has a parking fee but you buy 3 days at a time, security is good cop lives on site

Fishing regs are a moving target. Hopefully, they won't change again before 11/1.

Gubmint, gotta love 'em.

NoBones 09-24-2013 07:14 PM

OK....
We check-in to Apu Hilton on Friday......
What next???

Hang out at Anclote?, Go to Tarpon Springs and dive for
carwash sponges?, Maybe hang-out for the Continental breakfast
in the AM on Saturday?.........

There needs to be some kind of timeline before I commit...

Agreed! An agenda would help me with planning for sure.

DonV 09-24-2013 08:03 PM

I guess we need to find out what we can and can't do at the motel. You know, do we HAVE to eat in the motel's restaurant?, can we have a fish fry at the dock?, those kind of things. Normally we pretty much cook like crazy and "pig out" on Saturday! Don't want to mess that up.

Blue_Heron 09-24-2013 08:18 PM

Ken,
I'd forgotten how delicate you are. :D How's this:

Friday -Early arrivals meet up at Anclote and hang at the beach. Cook supper out on the beach or boats, followed by cocktail hour back at the No-tell Motel.

Saturday - Fishing or diving until mid afternoon. Those who wish to abstain can shop. Then back to the Ramada for showers followed by waterfront dining at a location TBD.

Sunday - Continental breakfast, then pack and check out. For those with a short drive home, cruise on the intracoastal or rendezvous at Anclote again before hitting the road.

If someone who knows the area better than me (and that would be almost anyone) wants to offer a different itinerary, my feelings won't be hurt.

Dave
