Not crossing with any Northern wind direction. Hoping for 5-10mph West wind on the way over and 5-10mph East wind on the way back!!

Sounds good, I know you guys will have a great time!

I found some hats.
They need fur.

Snookerd 05-06-2019 09:39 AM

2 months away....DonV, No Bones, Briguy and son, Tyler Baker, GFS, and I with my 17 yr old. C'mon with us! Re-read the thread and lock it in!! 5 SeaCrafts going.

Briguy 05-13-2019 11:36 PM

Man I just watch George Poveromo fish the Bahamas on NBCsports HD.
Can’t wait to go. Getting my 1979 looking factory new pristine (or better)
By the time we go.

Wondering if I’m taking a Sat Phone for the trip. Wondering if 50 or 100 Gatorade’s is enough!?!?!?

cdavisdb 05-14-2019 02:53 PM

Cell phone reception in the Bahamas has gotten real good. Depends on how your phone is set up. Mine is and iphone and works great.

Snookerd 05-14-2019 05:38 PM

George is awesome! I just took out the bone fishing guide from Green Turtle Cay (Ronnie Sawyer) that he went fishing with on his show out on my Sceptre last week.

The Sat phone or InReach is a good thing! Your on the right track with beverages!

DonV 05-15-2019 07:52 AM

"Your on the right track with beverages!"

Say what? Brian never even mentioned beer!! :)

NoBones 05-15-2019 09:00 PM

It is the Bahama's !!!

Kalik & Yellowbirds are the only two beverages you need to be
concerned about....

After three Yellowbirds you will be consuming raw coconuts and liking it !!

Snookerd 05-16-2019 09:15 AM

LOL! Cases of beer, for sure.

dirtwheelsfl 05-16-2019 12:13 PM

NOW we're talking!!! :)

Briguy 06-02-2019 05:56 PM

Bimini had a power outage due to a fire. I believe everything is up and running. What is the plan for fishing? Does anyone have any shallow drop or deep drop GPS numbers for grouper or snapper etc? What kind of fishing permit is required?

DonV 06-02-2019 06:24 PM

Here ya go Brian. Looks like $150 covers it all including fishing.

Great time with fellow CSC brothers Don and Brian to discuss trip details, ect.. Most of you guys are tied up on 7/10-7/14, but that one brother who has that weekend open with a vintage SC that was born to cross oceans, we have 1 room left on the trip. It’s 3 weeks away.....

Hmmm.

Snookerd 06-21-2019 01:20 PM

Well, it looks like we are booked for those five rooms! I’ve got connections, so if anyone that still wants to come, I’m sure I can make it work for you. Looks like the weather has calmed down! This thing is going to be legendary!!

dirtwheelsfl 06-21-2019 08:55 PM

Anyone need a deckhand??

Snookerd 06-24-2019 05:42 PM

I'm sure we will get another boat going.....

gofastsandman 06-26-2019 06:49 PM

I have sad news. We are a small shop and a coworker said he has a weding to attend that weekend. He had no days marked on the vacation calender, but said the owner was aware
of this. The owner said this was correct and was an oversight.

Oversight my ass.

Sorry it’s not going to work out Sandy. We are going again next year!

Guys that are going:

The Bahamas courtesy flag is different than the normal Bahamas flag. Also, besides that one, the yellow quarantine flag, you need a US flag as well. Once we clear customs, the US flag is positioned behind the courtesy flag. See photos below:

Well poop Sandy, too bad!! Maybe next year we can try again.....if I'm still kickin'!

captainDH 06-27-2019 07:33 AM

what is the latest list of committed boats and their departure inlets?

Snookerd 06-28-2019 08:26 AM

3 boats (2 23SFs, 1 23 Sceptre) and 8 people leaving from the Jupiter Inlet on July 11th. 2 more SeaCrafts would be cool! C'mon guys, pull out that dusty man card and tell the Mrs. you are gone for a few days....The CSC Banner will be present (thanks Ken), will you??

I know Don. I am not happy.
Good news is my rude got new BRP carb kits and has never run better.
Bad news is i am still dialing in the air bleed.

Now holding plane @2200 and 12 mph easily. Maybe chasing a less than perfect reed
as it is the same carb hating being palmed. Thought I had gotten past that.

Briguy 06-30-2019 09:04 PM

I chatted with a Bahamas customs rep. She said we needed proof of ownership. Like the boat title. Is that correct or will registration be suitable? Or photocopy of Title!?!?

DonV 06-30-2019 09:33 PM

Brian, on the "Bahamas Customs Clearance" form they ask for the boat registration#. I would think that would be good enough. What does our fearless leader Snookerd say?

Snookerd 06-30-2019 09:56 PM

Registration definitely, a copy of your title isn’t a bad idea.

Especially if your boat gets ripped off
I was in Walkers years ago with the WPB Fishing Club when one of our group boats (25' Contender)
Was snatched over night right from its mooring. He finally got it back , I think around 4-5 years later. It was trashed. Nobody saw or knew nothing even with marina security sleeping with one eye wide open. What an ordeal he had with customs & his insurance company.

Lessons here not to scare but be mindful this day in age. Carry proper paperwork, spare parts for your motor (prop, anchor & fuel filters a must) call your insurance company for temporary coverage in Bahamian Waters. Also, some type of locking device for your SeaCraft & gear if possible.

I hope all you guys have a great trip. Collectively, all of you have a wealth of knowledge and seamanship
I cant wait for the pictures:)

cdavisdb 07-01-2019 02:25 PM

To speed up clearing in, you can download the forms you will need and have them filled out before you get there. You will also have to fill out a card that the customs guys will give you. I get spares for next year, but don't know how to get my hands on the cards in the US.

I'll be over there about the same time, but too far south to visit. Good luck to all!

Capt Chuck is right on. Registration and passport is normally all you need, but if you have trouble, all the documentation you can carry will come in very handy.

Snookerd 07-05-2019 10:46 AM

I ordered 10 customs packages with the small immigration cards. I will bring them for anyone who needs one on Wednesday.

Looks like we’re going to have 10 of us… We have the Classic SeaCraft banner, thanks to No Bones! If you’re still interested in being apart of the MOAG, bring your boat and we will find an extra room or two on Grand....

Snookerd 07-05-2019 11:22 AM
