Re: Possibly New Owner Got A Question

what does the one you have now look like? maybe you just need to tighten up the cables on the motor side of them.

Guys could I upgrade the throttle control box to a newer verion ? I like the looks of the newer ones and mine seems to have a good amount of play.

I'm guessing there was a clerical error on the title and it should be "SEC" not "SED".

My other SeaCraft is a 1978, and the HIN starts with SEC. I'm sure yours did/does too. Some one, sometime got the "C" and the "D" mixed up on the title. It's a Potter built boat -- for sure!

If that's the case, you'll probably need to take a pencil etching of the HIN to your DMV to have the title corrected. It may also require a visual inspection by them to verify.

Ok for some reason this topic has been buggin me for a little while and I kinda wanna know whats right. SO the other day I decided to try and scrape away paint to better see the HIN and this is what I got......

I can barely make anything out and it looks like at some point something hit the hull right where the third letter of the hin is and basically chiped off that outer layer really obscuring the complet hin..... Could I get harassed by marine patrol or coast gaurd for this ? Any options on fixing the hin ?

On a different issue from looking at your pictures.....My advice is to replace those u-bolts and not lift the boat with the ones in the picture. Hidden rust, even on SS, is not good. Speaking from experience.

Thanks will do, I really havent found a need to lift my boat yet but I plan on possibly taking on the task of painting the bottom side of my hull so at that time I might change them out.
