Fairing is Awlfair. Transom notch is as narrow as i could get and still swing motor lock to lock, by my calculations it ended up at 27-1/2". If theres clearance issues a small manual jackplate will set it back a bit. Will most likely put one on anyway just to fine tune height...

O and 2018 no doubt!

Cap is officially on for good! Epoxied on for now and tabbed in a few spots, will get a full perimeter tab on the inside when shes upside down.

Cored/stiffened and widened to 7-1/2"? in the rear. Wouldve used a full width core the whole way, but just trying to use cutoffs ive got laying around. And ran some conduits because i hate wires dangling...

The top of the cap was in real rough shape. Had to take all the gelcoat off, and put a 14oz biax over the whole thing.

Gelcoat was in rough shape. Bottom is not as bad as the hullsides (UV). Some keel delam and a few stress cracks in the steps. Bottom will get a homemade epoxy fill, sides get awlfair

Wow!! Awsome looking rebuild! It’s astounding how fast you can crank out rebuilds. I love the forward storage, and envious that you can just flip a boat to work on the bottom. You Rock!

NoBones 02-11-2018 08:34 PM

A 20 still looks sexy naked and upside down !:cool:

We gave you 3 extra weeks for the gathering date to be ready...

So GO, GO, GO..:D

erebus 02-11-2018 10:31 PM

Jaysus! How do you get everything to lay down so flat and smooth?!
And how are you (and everything else) not all covered in resin!?
I don't even see any big globs in your driveway. And your shoes aren't ruined...

I was working on my Sceptre this afternoon, got home and the wife pointed out that I had hull and deck putty in my hair.
Unscheduled haircut.

Also, please tell me your keeping the name. Right down to the kisses over the I's.

dirtwheelsfl 02-12-2018 02:15 PM

Thanks mshugg, pays to have a buddy with a crane service!

Ken im still shooting for cinco! (memorial day is probably more likely though)

Zach my key to cleanliness is being cheap honestly haha. All glass gets weighed so im not mixing excess resin, excess fairing compound and my blades get smeared on something (console) so theres very little waste. Gloves are only used to handle and place glass really, rollers get worked barehanded. If the goo isnt on the boat then its money down the crapper. Been going to rodeos about half my life also.

Yes the name is going back on exactly like that, handbrushed. Bottom will be minty green, matterhorn hullsides, insides minty green w matterhnorn nonskid. Red boot
