Still a little bumpy and Mel wanted to sleep in so I decided to net some mullet and try my luck with some of the pet snook around the dock......

Getting real nice around here. Going to be an epic gathering!
|
Well I don't see where your "pet" will be learning any new tricks like roll over, set down, shake, etc.!! However I think he will be teaching you to say yum!! :)
|
Got a late start this morning after not being so responsible yesterday. Weather is sporty here. Going to pick up the clams shortly. My Golden and I will attempt a relaunch in the morning. Hope We don't miss too much.

Y'all have a good time. Wish we could be there. Family arriving in town tomorrow, and daughter's commencement on Saturday. My little girl is going to be a teacher, just like her momma, her gramma, and her great gramma before her. We hope to join you in the fall.

I guess the SeaCraft gods did not want me at this gathering…
|
Oh no. Everyone ok?
|
Yep! No injuries. That truck is a beast. I drove it home.

The tie downs really stopped the 23 from launching... The winch post is toast. The boat went a foot forward

Some people just don't care to look. Had one back out of her driveway yesterday on my way back from the ramp. I slammed on the brakes (thank goodness for those massive brakes on my 2500hd) and laid down on the horn about 5 feet from her door. It woke her up in a hurry.

Wow that sucks snookered! Glad everyones ok.

Sir prize vister:...Spider crab and swamp date!!

Here's proof, our favorite master baiter can catch feeesh!!!
|
Now a word about Spidey and his first cousin wife. After this picture was taken he left the "normal" CSC folks and went to finish his evening with "his kin" you can see in the background!!! I can't believe how well he fit right in with those yahoos. Even though it was a short visit, it was nice to see Spidey has moved up in the quality, looks and as you notice a much lower weight of his women!!!

I just want to take a moment to say Thank You! After a last minute cancellation on a fishing trip to Destin, I rethought my weekend plans. Member FlexPat handed his room over to me and my Golden. Terry was our Welcomer and took care of the introductions, and like the Whaler Rendevoux I've attended in the past, putting members faces with their monikers and crafts, it's always a bit overwhelming. KMoose handled an outrageous meal for all. After that, Dougs 151 kicked in!
Awoke Saturday to an invite to sea trial AND fish! Just the icing!!! Thank you Denny and Jim! Saturday late afternoon KMoose docks with a boat load. Only problem is the chefs can't decide on the Menu Du Jour. No problem. I had average expectations after Kens blackened Mahi the night before! It was so well orchestrated and may have topped Friday's dinner!!! Too much food, to say the least! Again, I just wanted to say Thank You to All! Great Time and New Friends! Always a plus!!! Never realized the sincerity of Skip and Carla's open invitation to the Keys!!! And I hope to have the MA running and in Hernando Beach for the start of Grouper 7-1. I have a three bedroom and some decent parking for scallop season as well! Awesome time, great meeting everyone. Lucie and I thank each and everyone of you! Vezo, Part II |
Yes Sir Mike, it was nice you made it!!! However I do want to apologize to your wonderful dog, who was beyond well behaved, I hated she had to see you get your butt whipped by Miss Melissa and me on the corn hole challenge. I'm hoping she will suffer no lingering issues!! :)
|
She's been my dog for three years. You don't think she has issues?!? Nice Battlewagon, Sir!
|
Now that I think about it, I've never played corn hole. Ever. I asked Lucie and she swears I didn't play Saturday night. In fact, she said that I was very well behaved.?.
|
Glad you could make it Michael.
I have tried to organize food in the past, but finally realized it just happens. The fun part is everyone brings something they really like and serve it proudly. Like the spoon bread pudding. Simple but delicious. I have had two whoa meals in my life. My standards are pretty lofty. The first was a restaurant refugee invite for Thanksgiving. This was mid eighties when everything was closed for the holiday. Remember those days? Doc and Ray invited all to Spooner`s as they had the facilities and seating capacity. There were many fine places in the upper valley of Vt and NH. Most everything served was wild caught or shot. Farm to table had yet to become fashionable. Foul was the focus. The stocks born of their roasted bones with love and patience. Back straps from the forest, trout from the Ottaqueechee, partridge, pheasant, and turkey from the fields and morning pine boughs. The intensity of the reductions is something I may never experience again. It was a real challenge to get some cheap owners to break out the wine... We brought our own mostly. Then I got an invite to work a wedding at Versailles after graduation. Are you kidding me? I was given two jackets and I wore the Egyptian cotton with pride. Funny thing my name was not on them. When a master gives you a jacket, you never forget. The pairings started in the early afternoon and were still going strong well after midnight. We who had never met did our part along the line with great love and care. The plates were breathtaking in their presentation. We tasted everything from the pate a choux for the croque en bouche French wedding cake. Some things failed, but the wine was a lifetime day. I`ve played pick of the cellar with Doc. I miss incredible wine. These gatherings remind me of those times. Things were swimming just a few hours ago. We joked about the folks over on the Island paying Bens for old fish. Thanks to Don n Deb for the great fishing. Thanks to all for our love of the ocean and all she brings. Smoke em if you got em. Cheers, GFS |
It was a great weekend and we enjoyed everyone's company. If ya'll go there next year, I might just have to get a room, if for no other reason, one less for the "kin". Thanks, Ron and Cindi.
|
As usual the food was 5 Star, Golden Spoon, Zagat rated quality !!
Patti and I had a great time as usual, even though we had to slum it down the street at the Ferndale Lodge...;) We also enjoyed spoofing a few with our Spidercrab and Swamp date 1st cousin wife, making an appearance .... You have no idea how much sweet talking it took to get my lovely bride to go along with the masquerade.. :D Cheers to all for their hard work.. Always good to put faces with the names.. |
kudos to your lovely bride!

Where did everybody go!? Great time this weekend with you all. Mel and I enjoyed seeing everyone and keeping the Tsunami out in the big water where she likes to be every chance we could. Took some friends to lunch at the Fort Pierce inlet today. It was a nice jaunt down the intercoastal seeing where all the $$$$$$ lives. Tomorrow we are going to hit the dolphin hard and then pack it in. I could vacation in Florida the rest of my life and not want for anywhere else. We certainly have it all.....
