Good grief.... :o

Another old gray haired guy with a pretty little blonde..

Danny, you are starting to look like the rest of us old geezers here !;)

Cannot wait to see everyone, The race is on.

Snookerd 11-03-2015 06:35 AM

We're not old......we are classic! Corbin will be in college next year! Looks like Jenan and I, sans kids, will be there Sat early AM till Sat late afternoon. Too many events going!

I'm starting to think Danny has been sandbagging these last couple of weeks. I think the only time I'm going to see the front of his boat is when it's on the trailer. :D That's ok though, I want Mel to spend plenty of time on the water seeing our next motor selection disappear over the horizon.

Salesmanship "101" at work!!! :)

DonV 11-03-2015 07:45 PM

I forgot to add to my list of items I will be bringing to the gathering, some "dessert" for after dinner enjoyment. I just received my twice a year SeaCraft gathering delivery of "apple pie", and for a change of pace, "candy cane" shine. :)

Blue_Heron 11-03-2015 08:02 PM

Is there any kind of general plan for gathering meals? Anyone care to summarize? Julie and I are trying to figure out what to bring.

Depending on the weather it will be either fried fish or hot dogs... Actually, there are so many stores nearby that needs can easily be shoppes for on location. Nothing like Cayo Costa that required a 2o minute boat ride and a 12 mile trek on a donkey. :D

DonV 11-03-2015 10:30 PM

Hot dogs??? Like the big giant ones from Costco? Now we're talking. :)

Dave, here is what I think I know might be happening (*) -
- Thursday Night "Spear Tribe" Captain's Meeting 7:00 PM - Zig-Zag Scallop - 4417 Calienta St. Hernando Beach, Fl. (Spring Hill)
- Friday Night "Poseidon's Apprentice" Capitan's Meeting 7:00 PM - the Freezer - 5590 S. Boulvard Drive Homasassa, Fl. (600' SE of MacRae's)
- Saturday Night "West Coast Fl. Fall Gathering" Fish Fry and Stone Crab Boil - 6:00 PM MacRae's
Note - several CSC "hitch-hikers" for various and sundry reasons : 1) Vezo II, 2) Bumpdraft and 3) Marshtackie. Remember "SCS Lives Matter", we don't want no mo' Ottis Redding "Sitting on the dock in the bay" songs writ down! So give a boy a ride!
Dave, Get Julie to come up with something that goes good with fish for Saturday night. Marsha has the Cole Slaw covered. I have a Push Boat number for you to scout out, but don't dive it without a cable gun - always has a couple of big cobias on it, bro'. Hang on!
(*) Subject to confirmation by Fleet Admiral Snookerd

DonV 11-04-2015 12:09 PM

A couple more items Deb and I will bring for Saturday evening's fish dry. We will bring Chinet plates, bowls, plastic cups, some paper towels and plastic knives/forks/spoons, not the cheap white ones, the clear plastic...only the best disposable utensils for the CSC folks. :)

I would not be to sure about "Day Tripper" Danny..
Always finds an excuse, I got in a wreck, my oldest son has a polo game,
my daughter has a wrestling match the next day, my middle son has a karate tournament ...........:):D

All kidding aside I will try to get some shrimps to steam & chips and dip!

Blue_Heron 11-04-2015 01:28 PM

Thanks, guys. Very helpful for planning purposes.

I won't be bringing dive gear, but I'd like to go out and drag a couple stretch 30s around on Saturday if someone has numbers that are good for that. Maybe drop a hook and see if the Groupah are interested in a pinfish or two. 30'-55' depth preferably. I will probably have room in my boat for two others if anyone's interested. I will have rods and tackle.

Mr. No Bones.......Admiral Snookerd is NOT AMUSED!

You are on to my diabolical plan to T-bone an illegal Mexican immigrant last gathering at 35 mph and pay for hotel rooms in Sebastian just to be sure everyone thinks I'm going to be there! Secretly, we all know that the gathering was doomed due to double booking with Mother's day!! With my plan executing perfectly, I then could still arrive in time for Mother's Day at Mrs. Snookerd's doorstep just in time! ....but I digress!

Snookerd 11-04-2015 04:15 PM

Potato salad / Chips and Salsa. FSU vs. Clemson starts at 3:30pm at the Tiki Hut............"Who's In?". Dave/Gators - not required to attend.:D

Sandy, Just bring the hookah and we'll go get some seafood, Bro'. I'm telling you the water isn't quite as clear as the Keys but there are 10 X the fish here. 76 degrees!

Bushwacker 11-04-2015 08:56 PM

I'll bring some Greek salad that makes a great appetizer!

bumpdraft 11-04-2015 10:20 PM

Wife says she's making veggie plate and macaroni and cheese. Maybe some banana pudding.

Don V & Terry E (and maybe Kenny L. fur da hushpuppies)

DonV 11-05-2015 09:02 AM

I have the fish frying stuff in the truck as we speak. Including Cajun fish fry mix and hush puppy mix. Notice I did not mention any fish.....no problem, I don't see too much pressure with Ken and Terry taking aim! :)

NoBones 11-05-2015 02:16 PM

OK, Good deal Donnie..

Before your pot gets all greasy, I will steam the 15 lbs. of shrimps ! :)
Not coming over with ole' truckie, using Durango to tow and not as much
room as P/Up.

See you all tomorrow !

TomParis 11-05-2015 07:43 PM

Im planning on getting there around 10-11 am on Saturday.

kmoose 11-05-2015 08:18 PM

You do realize that in the Homosassa to Steinhatcheee stretch, the Gulf deepens about 1' for every mile you travel offshore. So to troll a Stretch 25 or 30 in 55 feet of water is quite a ride to get there!

Seriously, you pick up gags in 20'-40' off Crystal River, straight out from the power plant. There's a trough there that I used to fish. If you have good sonar mapping charts, look at the bathymetric lines to find it, about 12 miles out.
No, I don't give out numbers. :D

Y'all have a great time at the gathering! Sorry I couldn't make it this time. Post lots of pics!!

"No, I don't give out numbers"

Darn....without your numbers I don't guess we will be able to find any fish at all!!

However as luck would have it Moose, Terry, Marsha and "Mr. Shine" Doug were able to find enough fish to provide us about 25 pounds of grouper, hog fish and snapper filets to feed us like kings!! :)
