So he went back to NY empty handed and $500 poorer (the auction deposit). I really feel bad for the guy, such a long trip for nothing.

It's a cool way to make $500...

Thanks buddy! I almost did but the monkey didn't have his glasses and couldn't see s**t! Ha!

Anyway, today I moved her from the Air Base to Jorge's house in Miami and a guy and his wife came by to see her and said they want her and will have the money on Wednesday! He was very impressed with the condition of the boat and was very happy that it didn't sell before. When that happens I'll drive it to his house since he lives close by and hopefully he'll get her all fixed up. I'll keep my fingers crossed so this deal won't go by the wayside again! :D

PS: I also told him that a FREE subscription to the CSC website comes included in the sale and I think that clinched the deal!!! :D

Well Nestor sold his boat.

he had it in my driveway and boy did it look good there.

Even my 2 boys were like "Dad can we keep it?"

As I drove up today I kind of missed it being there even if it was only for a short while.

Nestor time to start looking hard for the new one

Congrats Nestor! As Jorge said, time to start or complete the process again. I'm still waiting for someone to put twin rotary inboards, jackshafted on a Sceptre. That could be you :D

Thanks guys for the help and support. I delivered her today to her new owners and I'm glad she's going to get the attention she deserves.

Jorge, your boys are something else! Imagine saying that with that great Mako 23 WA in their driveway but then I realized they probably want the 20 for themselves so they can take those "prospects" we saw out for a "ride"!! Ha!!

Snookered, speaking of rotaries take a look:

This is the 240 hp, approximately 380 lb. (including outdrive) supercharged Mazda twin rotor engine:

Here they are ready to go in the Bertram 26:

Here they are installed:

This is the boat they're in:

The boat owner says the boat cruises in the mid 30's and tops out at 40+. He's also a pilot and says at WOT the boat sounds like a Turboprop airplane! Now I wonder how they would perform in a Seafari 25??? :D

480 horses @ 760 lbs total for both motors. Wow. There is that ever elusive weight distribution answer for twin screws!!!Amazing. :o

You bet! If I remember right each engine was about $10k but the website is no longer in operation. There's another site but I don't think i'ts the same one. Fuel economy at cruise is not too bad but it's a HOG at WOT!!

Re: 1970 Seafari I/O for sale

At that price per motor ,and low center weight, My big console originally holding the diesel motor, could be modified to accomodate them??? Those motors would allow speed above 50 in the 23SF :D
