Martin, here's an earlier post I sent to Strick with some mounting measurements on my Hermco bracket. http://www.classicseacraft.com/commu...=24103&page=10 In general you want to mount the tub as low as possible to get maximum flotation. The top of the solid green paint (not bootstripe) in pictures in that other thread is 11 5/8" above bottom of flotation tub. Bottom picture below shows where my motor is currently mounted.
The AV plate on my motor is 3.5" above keel in attached pic. I've since raised motor another 1" from where it was in this picture, and it looks like it needs to come up another inch to get the AV plate out of the water when on plane. I'd guess that an AV plate height of somewhere around 5 to 5'5" above keel would be about right for my rig, but that's with a 30" setback. With a 24" setback, you'd probably want to start out with an AV plate height of around 4", but mount the motor so you could later raise it 1 or 2 holes. Hope this helps. Denny
