We got a little out of sequence on the repairs and had to put the console and T top back in before we were able to get the paint done, but looking at how the electrical turned out, I am glad we got one more step completed.

Very nice job!! I like the EPIRB! I wish I was the guy who invented tie-wraps!!!!! Even at 1/10 of a penny each for royalties you're a zillionaire!!!

I had another brilliant idea to insulate the fish box lid. I had a piece of Styrofoam so I figured I would give it a try. I had some questions on whether it would work or not. Here is the process.

As some of you already know, this was not the end of the process. I let it sit up overnight and checked it the morning. Seemed like something was wrong. I had expected a little of the foam to melt around the edges, but when I tapped on the area that was glassed and it sounded hollow. Drilled a couple of holes and yup, nothing in there. Drilled a few more holes and poured in some foam. Not sure it this is gonna be anything but a big PITA, but don't know till you try.

As you've noticed, polystyrene foam and polyester resin aren't very compatible. But you can use epoxy resin over styrofoam with good results. I used styrofoam to insulate the lids to my fish box and it has worked very well.

Ba17 get some roofing foam.. It's slow density foam that comes in all thicknesses. Very versatile. It's a urethane foam the polyester resin does not attack.. Mine has the fiberglass felt paper that loves the resin. Hot shot a thin coat to seal it then lay you glass.. Very easy to shape as well..and pretty strong once laid up...we use this stuff to make fish boxes and coolers

Steady progress this week. Got paint on interior and kiwigrip installed on the floor. Ran a little short on kiwigrip. Need some to finish the topside, so if anyone has a gallon anywhere near Ocean Isle Beach, nc let me know.......
