Nobody wants to fish? |

Speaking of Don's elixir, I think I'm ready for it! Thought I was going to have to cancel the trip earlier today . . . about 0200 this morning, my wife pulled out her feeding tube, for the second time in 2 months! (She has Parkinsons Disease pretty bad, so has trouble swallowing meds and with full dentures she doesn't eat too well either, so the tube helps us give her meds and keep her fed and hydrated.) Don't know if it was dementia or her bipolar disorder acting up, or maybe it's just because she's a Democrat! Anyhow, we got her to the ER about 0300 where they installed a temporary tube and got back home about 0500. Got to see the gastroenterology doc about 1100 who said he could put in a new tube tomorrow morning, be there at 0500! Fortunately our daughter who has been staying with us and helping take care of her, said she could handle it while I work to get the boat ready. I was so PO'd about the whole deal and in such a foul mood, I thought "Ya know, I don't think you'd really want me around here this weekend anyway!" And I sure as hell need the attitude adjustment that these gatherings always provide! So look out guys, I'm all in and ready to blow off a little steam! I'll have some fine Ky. Bourbon (but none of the Pappy Van Winkle that's gotten so scarce after folks found out about it!), but Don, I'm sure a sip of your latest batch will really hit the spot! Denny
|
Denny-that sounds very difficult! You are a saint! i'm sorry to hear all the things Pat is going through. With Susan helping as well as she does, you deserve to take a break and enjoy yourself! I will be ready as well...without the family.
|
Not to worry Denny, you're covered!!! Two apple pies and one of the pink stuff, if you drink them all Friday I think I can get more. :)
In what really counts.....I hope things get better with your wife, I know it's been a difficult ride for you and I wish you the best. |

Got out with Terry today and he made sure there will plenty of fresh grouper and snapper for the gathering this weekend. Beautiful day on the water.

Welly is almost in the oven.
Want me to bring mango and papaya sauce for the Schnappah and grouppah? |

Well since you hold the shine...OK.

Otherwise Jim it would be easier for us to get you if you go over to Pineland and call.. |
Well, , , , , Murphy came to visit.
I spend no small amount of time, thought, and $ trying to keep that SOB away. Works sometimes, not others, and not this time. Put in this afternoon at Eldred's, ready for a great gathering. about 200 yards from the ramp, something failed at the same time I put the throttle down to get on plane. No loss of power, but something failed in a big way, nasty noise coming out of the drive. I thought it was power steering at first, but its worse, maybe a major Ujoint failure. Bell housing? To the mechanic with it, I'm screwed. For anybody interested in oysters, the bar is just west of 26 35.942N 82 11.239W, or 133 degrees, 2.6 miles from where you get all the way out of Terrys channel. Sorry I can't be there. |

That sucks Conner. Sorry to hear it. Hopin' it a minor evil but not sure that exists in the duo-prop world. Good luck with the repair. Hope someone gets a nice redfish off that bar. |
F the boat. Get your ass back here.
Just finished fresh blackened Groupah watching the moon rise. Charlie Christ came here for lunch on a Trophy... Maybe if he had a SC , he coulda picked up a few more votes? This place is heaven. |

Just a quick review of the rendezvous ...we had 20 people at the fish, clams, chicken and beef Wellington feast . There were 2 very nice 18 footers this time around to join the regular 19,20,21 and 23 footers. Conners 25 and Daves Seavette both had Outdrive issues and did not make the picture shoot.
The rain came late in the day and did not spoil the party. The only down side was that Mel did not get to play Cornhole. Big thanks to Ken and Terry 2 for supplying fresh grouper and clams. Sandy your BW is the best. Attachment 8752 |

Keep them pictures coming fellas, I'm living vicariously through the Cayo Costa crowd this weekend. Looks like another fine gathering. Did anybody fish? My understanding is that the fishing in Charlotte Harbor is so good that even the fish, fish... Any evidence of that down below? Ken, Terry? Beef Wellington looks great Sandman. Fine house on the hill. 5 chimneys? Highest point in FL?

What a tremendous gathering! Lots of new folks and we missed some old folks...No Bones, ect.. Well worth the price of admission! Terry and Marsha have an awesome place down there and thanks to everyone for the amazing food. Talking to GFS while he was cutting the BW and seeing the ashes from his cigarette just about ready to land in the demi glaze was priceless.
