Very nice, Chuck. I like the side mount remote control. I wanted to re-use my binnacle mount, but seeing your setup, I think that's the way to go. The cabinetry looks good too. She's really coming together.

Chuck,
You went with the two tank configuration: fore/aft. I love it! I want to hear about your opinion as to how it works out.

BTW, great work and beautiful results. You are making her one proud Lady! Add to that your wife and now you have two! You well deserving dog, you!

That means he must still be pulling them out then

After seeing what you went through with your tank I was not about to do the same. I filled both tanks with water and flushed them out real good then stuck the vacuum in there after that. There were only a few shavings that I saw but I was surrised that he would leave those big cut outs flopping around in the bottom of the tank. I wont be using him for any more fuel tank jobs

More weekend warrior work going on. I've had very little time to get anything done as work has me running around putting out small fires here and there 7 days a week. Most of the work I've been able to do is at night so I've been burning the midnight oil lately trying to get things wrapped up. My goal at this point is to get the boat operating so I can do a little Fall fishing in this thing...but well see if that happens.

The outdrive is partially mounted

http://www.casdvm.com/photos/25%232internet/597.JPG

I ended up salvaging the old bow rail of the other 25 seafari. Rather then spend $1800-2K to have one welded up, I instead spent $125 on some new fittings. I still need to polish it up and finish bolting it down. I like the way it looks and a big thanks goes to Bill for helping me get it on there.

There is enough room to see most of the gauges when sitting at the helm. The important ones will be mounted on top of the gauge panel. When standing up at the helm all of the gauges are visible.

My working conditions every night

http://www.casdvm.com/photos/25%232internet/596.JPG

We took a little day trip to Monterey last weekend. There were tons of boats on the water in the morning fishing close to the beach. I hear they were catching white sea bass! I did not get any pictures of that but here is a couple of the harbor. Perfect day for fishing but we went to the Jazz festival instead. :(

Looking great. The recess setup is very slick and is in harmony with the classy old school boat.

The WSB bite has been insane. Its a once in a lifetime year. You should go, awesome fish and incredible table fare.

Better than jazz???

Re: I Need A Shrink !

Lookin' sweet, Chuck. I'm planning something similar for my helm station, but I want to bring the flip up panel all the way back to where you mounted your switches. Still sorting out where my switches and trim tab controls will go.

When I got my 25, it had the single fuel gauge with a switch for toggling back and forth. I decided to go the other way, with two gauges, so I wouldn't have to remember which tank was on the gauge, which tank was feeding the engine, and if they were the same. I'm afraid I'm getting forgetful in my old age and need all the help I can get.

Yes that would be better then Jazz  The only white seabass that I ever caught was about 1/3 that size and I caught it by accident...I catch everything by accident usually :D I would like to go but I need to hook up with someone "In the Know" if you know what I mean. Live or dead squid I hear works good.

Bringing the flip up forward would help. You could mount the switches to the left, right or below the wheel or on the vertical area to the left of where the flip up is. Problem there is they might interfere with the entry into the cabin. On the rocker switch forward will be for the front tank and back will be for the rear tank. Remembering which tank the the selector valve is feeding will be my problem :D

I can't really tell by your pictures...is your Volvo running electronic ignition?

If it's not I would highly recommend putting in a conversion for a couple of hundred.

I did this on one of my inboards and never had any problems trolling or idling. Matter of fact didn't need to change plugs for a very very long time. Always clean burning.

Sean- I have at least one boat ready and poised for attack all the time. Let me know. I have not been fishing since Nov...just working on this stupid boat!

Terry- Motor has been tore down and rebuilt with electronic ignition, holly carb, electric fuel pump etc... We put electronic ignition in our 23 Tsunami and it seemed that the engine had twice the power then before that addition. I was very impressed.

That hole is for the vacuum gauge. Just got it in last week. I still have to find places for the trim/tilt gauge, VHF radio, horn button and high water alarm. Outdrive is on the boat with props..looks cool. Batteries are in and I'm wiring the boat as of now.

Re: I Need A Shrink !

Thanks guys...We got the engine running tonight. I just got in. It runs good. RPM gauge is reading 1000 as soon as you turn the key to on and then jumps to 2000 as soon as you fire up the engine then stays at 2K. Trying to figure that out, Also the trim tabs were working properly but now have took a crap. manual says to hook up the trim tabs to the RPM gauge which is what I've done. Temp, volt, fuel, Oil pressure gauges all work properly. There are always a few bugs to work out so time providing tomorrow evening I'll try and trouble shoot. No leaks in any of the fuel or water lines so I'm happy. Motor purrs. still have to get the trim/tilt working and adjust the controls. Possible launch date is this weekend. I have a darn wedding to go to on Saturday.
