OK - So, after replacing the A/B switch and the battery cables to it I was still out of luck. Called IM and they had me drop it off the week after Dorian. dropped it off and an hour and half later the tech called me and said she was fixed.

Got back to the marina and he showed me that it fired right up. He said there was an "issue with the starter" plus when I was messing with it while stranded offshore, I must have put one of the wires back wrong. Thankfully, Brian at IM did the right thing and did not charge me.

Fast forward to yesterday, prior to heading out, I fired it up real quick at the house and all good. Got to the boat ramp, dropped her in the water and and again she fired right up. Purrs like a kitten and sips gas like I cannot believe!

My son and I cruised a little bit in the north fork of the Saint Lucie River and then did a little drifting across the bay about 3 or 4 times. I tossed out some frozen squid while he cast a lure. We tried to toss the cast net to get some bait but the winds were just too much for us amateurs. We managed to catch a couple of gaftopsail catfish but that was about it.

I left the motor running the entire 2-1/2 hours we were out for and she only burned 2.1 gallons of gas!!! That included some running down the river at 30+ mph in the sloppy chop and heavy cross wind! On the way back in I told my son, "damn I love this boat!" She rides so nice, handles the wind and chop like nothing and is so fuel efficient it is CRAZY!!!

Now for the but...When I got her back home and went to fire it up again to flush the motor - NOTHING. Again, same as before, everything else works, gauge works, radios work, but not so much as a click of a relay or kick of the bendix on the starter. I have already messaged Brian from IM about it but man am I pissed. I have not even put 10 fricking hours on the thing yet. WTF!??! I have not posted this anywhere else but needed to do a little venting and figured without blasting IM for something that could easily be a factory defect, I would do a little venting here among my Seacraft brothers...

Right after college had a ‘68 100HP Johnson which ran great on the garden hose but stranded me a few times. That was before they went to double pulse packs. That sure was aggravating. Your symptoms could be ignition switch- but am only an ME. Maybe an EE like NoBones will weigh in.

Your boat came out beautiful. I'm sorry for your frustrations. I'm sure your one minor issue away from flawless performance! Ground wire maybe?

This is a dumb solution but might have happened. Make sure you didn't accidentally bump the throttle into gear.

And your kill lanyard/clip is properly connected!! Sometimes it's the simple things.

Nope. Tried multiple times. Moved throttle, pushed neutral button etc. Nothing at all from key switch.

First thing I looked at. Pulled it out and reattached multiple times. Still nothing from the key.

Dropped it off yesterday at about 2 yesterday and met with mechanic. He tried to start it and had same results. He fiddled with a few wires under the cowling and then it fired up. He said something is clearly wrong. He looked at the codes and said it was throwing a few codes but he did not know off the top of his head what they were. I left the boat there and no word as of 10:30 am today

They`ll sort it out.

Look up the triple load method of tossing a cast net on you tube.

You`ll be tossing pancakes in no time. Call Tim Wade and get yourself a big net
that will make short work when filling your live well.

The comm boys n girls use them exclusively for good reason.

Check every ground wire there is...
9 times out of 10 it is a bad ground connection !!
I know it sucks to go through all the effort you put into it
for a simple aggravating issue....

It has to be something simple for an intermittent problem..

It will get better, don't give up..:)

Turns out the binnacle is most likely defective. It has a throttle position misalignment issue that is causing the motor to think it is in gear. Hope to have her back tomorrow...

Final analysis was bad neutral safety switch. Repaired and heading out this morning!

Had a great day today. Out for almost 6 hours. Didn't catch anything besides a few baby sharks but was a great day nonetheless.

YUCK!!! I hate those darn things!

Passed you and your crew just north of the bridge in Stuart yesterday. The boat looked great! We were on my 20 headed for sebastian for the night.

Sadly, it looks like I might have to sell her soon. Been enjoying it to the tune of over 240 hrs so far but business has slowed down while medical bills (for my wife) have gone up.

I don't want to do it but it is probably what I have to do. Need to clear up debt and with the slow down and everything starting to get more expensive, (Let's Go Brandon), it is about time. I will probably put an ad up on the site as soon as I finish up some much needed cleaning/detailing. :(

Cleaned her up some. Touched up paint on the sides from dock rash etc. Also, when I looked under the trailer when I was fixing the lights what I saw scared the crap out of me.The leaf spring were toast and hanging on by a thread. :eek::eek::eek: Decided to replace the old leaf springs with new 3500# torsion axles and 4 new wheels and tires. Now I feel safe towing her once again. Amazing how much quieter it is too - no more pounding on bumpy roads LOL
