7 Days now Generac running 10 hrs. with a two hour cool down and back on for 10 more every day.
Burning 1/4 qt 10-30 Synthetic every 24 hrs...
Consuming 100 lbs of propane a day... :(

Patti & I ran to Wally World at 6:30 this evening, gave Generac an
extra break while gone for an hour and half. Pulled in, hit Auto switch
fired right up, opened garage door went inside unloading our supplies..
All of a sudden total darkness ..:eek:
Grabbed flash light to go check old faithful. OverHeat light flashing red !
You know what I said and it was not "Oh my gosh"...;)
Long story short the two spade lugs to the temp switch were not making
a good connection.. (God bless Google) Cleaned and tightened them up and Varoom...
Generac running smoothly again ! I hate spade lugs in a high vibration
heat situation.... Going to drill holes and put screws with lock nuts
when power comes back on... FP&L is saying Tuesday..
One glimmer of hope was an Asplundh crew was on my driveway today
from 9:30 till 4:30 :)
Only need pole replaced and line crew now.
Seems to be a shortage of poles which makes sense with Texas
taking most of them...
If we get power by Tuesday Patti and I will likely only be able to come
for the Saturday pot luck...

Ken-

Sorry to hear that you are still out of power. That sucks...

How much propane do you have on site and how much longer until that runs out?

I wish I could offer some assistance

Thanks Ed..
We have A/C, hot shower and TV and internet otherwise I would
be living at my office ! I always lose At&T landline but not DSL ??
Have 6 100 lb upright tanks. My business partner lived out here
long before I moved to the jungle... His words were do not put a tank in the ground as
no propane company would be able to get to you in a disaster such as this..
He was right. At least I can throw those up rights in my
old Chevy 4X4 to get propane.. Some companies will not even touch
those tanks laying on their side in the back of truckee. "BS"
Filled up 4 of them yesterday at $2.67 a gallon some places are charging
$4:50 a gallon ! Also "BS"..
We went 7 days with Matthew, went 21 days with Wilma !

The 6 boys from Asplundh were from New York they got a nice lunch
all the water and soda they wanted.. As a bonus my Key Lime tree
was full of fruit that was what they were really impressed with..
Needless to say they left with a big bag full..

I choose to live here and would not trade Area 442 for ANYTHING !! Just ask
any of our CSC members that have been here it is truly a special place and
Patti & I have been blessed...

So glad everyone is able to say they are ok.... our plan for the gathering is done as Tab is working the texas storm "indefinitely" ... or that was what she was told.. Florida took a beating line o haven't seen in a long time !! But that flood in Houston was something else... there are still areas that people are just starting to be able to get into... est was 1million cars with water damage... (what she's working) and I never heard a bomber on houses...

Glad to hear that you have the ability to refill those tanks, Ken. AC and a fridge are probably the most important and comforting to know you have them both.

Just put Creighton, FL into mapquest to see where you are and now I know why you call it area 442! Highway 442 appears to run right across your town.

Keep taking care of those utility and tree workers and you may get bumped up on the list :]

Well I got about half of my shutters off and the yard cleaned up and roof patched. Think I will leave the rest of the shutters up and have the others handy. (Just in case)

If you look at Google Earth you will see the 27 SeaMaster next to the shop :D

I had a post years ago about 442 !!
The state road off I-95 is SR-442 Exit #244
My 20 SF is FL 4422, Lil Kenny's 23 is FL 4428 My SS has 442 in it as well

I play those numbers every week, sooner or later it is bound to hit..;)

Irma Cleanup

Good morning Ken.

We finally got power back for most of the neighborhood and most of my major cleanup is nearly complete. For us, it wasn't as bad as Charlie in 04. Let me know if you need anything over your way.

Well at 7:35PM the power boys from Plainfield, Nue Yauk got us going...;)

They wanted to see Alligators... So I said follow me to the pond as it
was there dinner time anyways... You should have seen their eyes..
As they walked backwards to the trucks... ;) It also helped that I was
headed that way with a Remington 870 Wingmaster..:D:D

Told them those two gators like something different once in a while.

Even with 10 acres of debris to still clean up, Blondie & I will be at the
gathering for the weekend...:)

New pole installed...
