There is a lot of construction on Blue Heron east of US 1. Four lanes are reduced to 2 from US 1 all the way to Singer Island and north on A1A to the NPB line where the condos end. Pretty congested from about 4-6 pm, so best to get here before then. Alternate route for rush hour would be to turn off the Beeline on PGA Blvd and follow it across US 1 to A1A over to Singer Island and south to Blue Heron. A lot more traffic lights on PGA but will be less congested east of US 1, and when you get on Blue Heron headed west, Phil Foster Park will be a simple right turn after you cross the little bridge. BTW, that little bridge just east of the park is also a great snorkel spot at slack high tide if you want to see tropical fish. Denny |

Re: CSC Peanut Island - Time to plan!
I wanted to wish you guys the best. I can not make it, I have this silly work thing that I have to do in order to pay for my fishing habit and unfortunately this is my weekend to be on call.
The weather man says you will have really nice weather and a flat ocean. Enjoy it, but please leave a few fish for those of us just a little North. |

Re: CSC Peanut Island - Time to plan!
Great shots Ken! Great weekend and plenty to do...........With my sister, brother and his wife, their 3 kids, and my parents and their 18SF down for the day on Friday and my parents back Sat. night back down the ditch from Jupiter on the 18! Good times! The kids snorkeled around the lagoon Friday with Briguys son Jack. Sat. we dove the south inlet ledge with Denny and saw a lot of fish and then we fished the reef right next to the Blue Heron Drift Boat with no luck, so we started trolling Bally with skirts and got both both boys on good sized bonitos anyways!
Great crew with Ken and Patti, Carla and Skip, Dixon and Susan, Denny, Don, Sandy, and Brian and Kimberlee. I am having trouble with my G D card reader. @#$%^&* We could turn that island into a sweet resort, but as it is now, I would only make videos for TV. Lots of them. What means the most to me about these gatherings is the sharing of friendship and knowledge. This time I learned that I was woefully unprepared and I should not shirk the cooking off on Janet while I spread varnish. My mistake. I think I lost a nice Wahoo on my 4/0 early Sunday. Kings and Tuna scream drags but Hoo`s make them sing like nothing I`ve ever heard. That`s why we go out. Why does one diesel raise more fish than others? Tough day on the radio. When you see Capt Greg Bogdan putting his clients on Bonita with his Conch, that`s tough. I still want that boat. Cheers, GFS Lots to follow, but Janet has to fly tomorrow. |
Re: CSC Peanut Island - Time to plan!
Yes, it was a great time ... And like GFS stated, it's the friendships that make it so special.
As usual, we feasted like royalty and yet pigged out on DonV's dolphin fingers and hush puppies. Thanks Ken & Patti for the ride on NoBones, and to everyone for bringing some great food. |

Re: CSC Peanut Island - Time to plan!
We did have a great time, a little warm at night but it wasn't bad as we adapted. We will go back maybe at a slightly differenet time but a neat place.
A little drama after everyone else got away, after you got the wheel barrow it never came back for an hour. The guy that blows off the sites and rakes them says we have to get our stuff off the sidewalk - we're waiting for the wheel barrow. After discussing this issue with the park girl - nicely it shows up with another load - and she lets them walk past again @#!@#$%. Now the head guy stops by and we make the same plea that this is beyond... to not have the wheel barrow - its like 12-30. Now the gardner guy shows up at the pavillion with the blower - I'm down with the park girl - he starts in that "she just has to get out", of course that is rsponded with - we want too just need the wheel barrow - " just get out" - not the correct response after an 1.5 hrs - got very ugly after that. I have been on that end trust me - the park girl got an ear full, I then went and got the boat in a slip to load it sometime - they then showed up with it at 1 something as I got tied up- she then follows them down and informs me I can use it - I informed her that " I saw it and it was not leaving the dock again without me, thank you very much though" - at about 1-30 we got loaded and were off to trhe sandbar. Finished the afternoon at the sandbar until 4 and it was great, nice weekend all in all, maybe not so much for what his name, which she found out - she was seriously pissed - not a good place to be, been there done that - just say'in :D |
Re: CSC Peanut Island - Time to plan!
I shot off an email today to the Palm Beach P & R Dept.
voicing our displeasure over the dockage, wheel barrow and other minor issues that they have. It was straight to the point with my professional opinion on how to correct these problems. Now you are probably asking yourself what qualifies ole' Ken how he offered his corrective suggestions. Well, glad you asked! In my past life I spent 11 years on the County of Volusia's Port Authority..  Ending my tenure as chairman in 1999. This was a political appointment originally by the Governer of Florida. This was a non paying position! Our budget was about $2 mill a year and during the course of my service we completed over $30 mill in joint projects. Our duties included, boat ramps, parks, piers, artificial reefs. inlet restabilization, Redfish restocking, captive Snook breeding, etc, etc. So there you have it... :D Lets see if the powers to be come back with a response. See ya, Ken |
Re: CSC Peanut Island - Time to plan!
You go Ken!!! I'm thinking they should have a little extra money in the account for a couple more wheel barrows.....jeeeeez.

Re: CSC Peanut Island - Time to plan!
Ken-Down boy! Way to let 'em have it..........I agree about the needed improvements. Here are 2 more pictures of the boys with their fish, compliments of Denny:

Danny, honest you have to lose that hat - just say'in
You have to be able to find something else a little cooler looking, for the love of god and his children :D you look like a hillbilly |
Re: CSC Peanut Island - Time to plan!
Ken, Susan was supposed to get a call back but so far has not. We will go back in Oct probably, and Susan mentioned tonight leave on Monday so no issues with the wheel barrow. Honest we didn't get out until close to 1-30, which I said to the girl was unacceptable but when the gardner started in with Susan = bad move

Re: CSC Peanut Island - Time to plan!
Now....now!!! I was an OMC man for what seems like forever. Bought four of them new and only traded because I wanted more power plus when I brought a new Hydra-Sport years ago it had to have an OMC. I now have a Mercury 'cause I could not pass up the deal, it's been a very good engine. The "black and it does not want to work" was true 20 years ago with Mercury however not sure it's so true now. Just me chirping.

Dirt bikes, street bikes, snow machines, and outboards have all benefited from CDI and other advances since the old days. I had an `85 Moto Guzzi LeMans 1000 and it was stellar. Got a ticket in the mail for 40 points. First charge was "attempting to elude an officer" Nobody taught him how to ride that Kz1000. Should have smoked me. Gus was far from stock. :D I had heard that I was clocked at 151 one Friday, and I wasn`t wide open all day. I was all over Vt. that day. Cheers, GFS |

Ken, no Gucci but you always have nice hats and nice shirts - and always tucked in - Dapper would be a better adjective than Gucci.
Danny if I could have a Rude I would, although this motor ran for 4 or 5 yrs with nothing, it just wore out. After the rebuild it ran good, I lost the charging side of the stator up on the St Johns with the Scream-Fly guys, but the motor was cook'in. Changed the stator and seem to have had issues since but it keeps checking out OK, more detailed work on that this week at RPM. |

Great to meet your folks too. Seeing them swimming around at 70 plus warmed my heart. That`s where it starts. We squids called it the LimoBus. These days DCF would have been called. Cheers, GFS |

Sandy your boat screams Bahamas trip.......the kids really liked being on "Wide Open" your 20SF. As I see it now.........the Bahamas trip needs to be set for the end of July next year. Anyone have interest in a November trip on the West Coast?
