GFS you can stop by and check it out, its only 20 minutes north of you.
the work is coming to a close very soon as the boat is almost complete. here are some pics of the wiring and the console back in place the guy wiring the boat had a tall order to fill with my mechanical background and he has past the test. I am very happy with his work as clean wiring really sets the bat apart from others I think. |

ok see here are some more pics of the rigging getting completed, a few more hours and it will be headed north!
here is the rubrail getting applied, I put the black taco rail on for now, I might at some point upgrade to the white and stainless. The paper has been removed! The boat is smooooooooth.. like glass! like it was dipped in paint!! electronics are in along with the windshield., the engine shroud will be the last to go on as its how they are getting in and out of the boat. |
That first pic has some good tricks to remember ;)

some final things getting finished, speakers are in the console, didn't want to cut them in until he had all the rigging in. Front anchor hatch is done, he cut a rope passway into it so it can be closed when anchored. Steering is mounted and also the new ignition and kill switch plated are done. I had the plexiglass guy cut a small piece to mount over the switches to keep the water off them
also the final touch of the Classic seacraft |
Awesome!! Might want to think about rub strakes and anchor chocks also.
|
20 minnows away?
Where? |
I looked into the pop up line chocks, not an inexpensive item...I do think something is needed up there,though...Your resto is coming along great !

alright the finishing touches are being done and the boat will be headed north in the next week. Everything is finished with the wiring, I had Randy add 4 under gunnel lights for night fishing. The only thing we are having a little trouble with is the Suzuki rigging, but hopefully that will be ironed out tomorrow.
After Randy did the final rigging, the boat was brought done the street to Fiberglass Florida in Stuart to have the SEADEK coaming pads and front cushion installed. So far they have knocked it out of the park. I went with this type of coaming pad because its only about 3/4" thick and the wear is far superior to a regular cushion type. I also had them put the lines in the seat cushion. they will be finishing the last two pieces on Monday. |

boat is here and the engine rigging has started, steering was put on before the motor was mounted, motor is now secured to the transom at the proper height. The rigging tube was measured and cut . the rest of the rigging will be finished hopefully tomorrow. then I have to fill the gas tank......
|
wow, that is unbelievable. I have serious console envy.

Well the motor fits under the shroud even being jacked up 3 holes. I am in love. The back of the boat is clean of obstruction and I don't have to fight fish around a bracket!
|
Very nice, the whole project turned out great!
|
Thank you. Waiting on a set of steering hoses and we will be dunking it
|
HI Bill, Still waiting on those hoses or are you having to much fun with that beauty?????
|
sorry meant to update, the neutral safety switch was bad in the throttle shifter and I also needed a wedge for the throttle to keep it from hitting the dash. Everything else is complete. I should have it in the water in next couple days.

the post that everyone waits for...........

well finally buttoned up some loose ends and a couple head scratching engine glitches.
the boat floats and it moves along real well, I have a little more turning to do but I had it up to 45 mph which is faster than my last 20 sf. the boat is awesome and I cant wait to get a couple island pics up here. |
your boat came out insane... nice ride !
|
BRAVO!!! Another Billy the Kid masterpiece.

Perfection

Just went thru your entire thread, great read and pics. Beautiful sled!! I have a question, maybe I missed it in the thread but what did you do to attach the deck to the stringers. I saw the tabbing to the hull sides, but was there something applied on the stringers?,,,gregg

yes in the build if you saw the deck chain hoisted above the hull it was lowered after we applied arjay technologies bonding putty (potter putty) then the hull was tabbed inside the front fish box and the rear bilge for extra security also it wasglassed all the way around the outside. I launched off a wave on Saturday and there wasn't one shutter or creek, I was actually surprised. |
