Looked at boat today. The floor from the raised deck back to the tansom has been removed. Hull looks good with a few scratches. Transom looks dry where I/O was and some other holes for tabs, etc. But considering the floor having to be replaced and most hardware, new I/O or bracket OB's, lots of fiberglass to fill numerous screw holes, is this worth $6500? If not, what would you say its worth?

Nahh - I'd only offer him 3K, hell maybe he'll take 2

Seriously? Probably worth that or certainly close to it if it has any of the I/O running gear (worth at minimum 500-1000 if you sell it as a package and bracket for new OB), Decent Hull, Good console, all of the rails.. But you have a lot of work in front of you if you do it or a lot of dough if someone else does... Is there a trailer? How did the stringers look?

I don't know how many you run across down there but up here that boat is pretty rare at that coin level.

The I/O is not included. No trailer. Console not the best of shape around bottom.

Scott,
The corners of the console are broken up.
All the floor pieces are on the ground beside the boat. They didn't look to bad. He said he stripped the floor to investigate the stringers and put in more storage in the floor (7 foot rod lockers I think he said). To his surprise he found foam on each side of the centerline. Only wood type stringer I saw was the motor mount. Maybe a 4x4 with fiberglass over. Fore ends were exposed and the starboard side looked a little wet. The boat has been sitting out in the rain and the foam is wet to the touch. Would you be looking at taking all that out? I think I read on hear you can never dry out foam completely. This guy is very knowlegable about the history of Seacraft and I don't think he is going to budge on the price. He bought the boat in running condition for 8000. He thinks that it is still worth 6500 in this shape. I have trying to find a project at deal but this one is probably more than I need to get into right now.

I know this must come across as rather negative ....but I'm really just trying to be realistic .... really don’t know what he is thinking ..... Especially telling you that the boat was purchased for $8,000 in running condition .... he has taken out the motor (which I'm too assume was running and was probably sold ) ripped out the floor and ... Now it sounds like exposed the foam to the elements ..... and you can have the headache now for $1,500 less than he paid... and again missing the motor, needing to reinstall the deck and now needing to do something with the wet foam ...
Are the "deck panels" getting all wet and soaking up water too....after all at the very least they will need to be fiberglassed back into place (at this point I would replace the core material) faired out, most likely the non-skid will be disrupted by the fiberglass work and will need some work, and then the inside repainted ... I'm sure you realize this is no weekend project

The console sounds like its going to need some crafty glass work .....Oh then you'll need to fix that big old hole in the transom!!!

What the shape of the fuel tank/tanks??

I say all of this, as before I purchased my boat I spent several hours poking around seeing what it was going to take to get it where I wanted it to be ultimately, and even at that, and having it professionally surveyed ( I have more about that also), I still find stuff that I didn’t see originally that I want to fix. Honestly I dont know what a surveyor would do with this hull...but maybe to give you a true value of what its worth in its condition.

Sooner or later it will sell and someone will be really happy with what they have …. But IMHO that’s a lot of money for its condition.

Again its all a matter of how much and how bad you want it.... And a little cash wouldn’t hurt either !!
