Seacraft gets its first, and second, Swordfish
 

Caught two swords on the seacraft this weekend. This boat is fish collecting machine :D Also a couple dolphin and grouper

Daytime fishing on the bottom in 1500'+, hand-crank reel.

I would have trad a little fuel tank space for a bigger fish box. Its 35 miles one way, burned around 40 gallons all day. Boat was loaded super heavy (fishing gear/ice/swordfish/weighs/dive gear/crew/full fuel) heavy, but still managed around 2.5 MPG

Figured I would respond because, I have been in the same game. Saw your posts on another site that I view. Sweet !! I have a 1984 23" SF also that I am slowly restoring and these boats do raise fish!! The photo is of my first sword off dania 15 miles out in 1400ft last year. It happened to be the first drop I ever made swording and within 3-5 minutes hooked up and she also swam up with the weight until I got the wieght off and when she saw the boat then ripped off 500ft. of line. Took about an hour and a half to get her boat side and then in, OH what a feeling!! Anyway, congrats and contact me if you ever happen to be down this way.

Congrats on those nice swords,and they are some good eats for sure.Did I read "Hand crank reel" 1500 down?
I'd have to be put on oxygen after that battle,and that's assuming I could even make it that long.
Sweet fish,and nice boat,gotta love our Seacrafts,they never fail to amaze.A relatively small boat that acts so much bigger.

same sort of fight on my fish, about same size too. This was really the first time I went out there and was able to get a bait on the bottom. The last two times I had tried, I was not reaching the bottom. Switched to a thinner diameter braid and was able to hit bottom in 1600'+ cant wait to try it again :)

Just got back from a sword trip out of key largo today. One sword about a buck twenty / 57" with two lost at the boat. Will post pics tomorrow. Not in my boat but, I'll take it anyway! I"ve been gut hook:eek:
