Hello,
My name is Josh and I live in key west. I love this board and my boat. It's a 1972 23' SF CC. It currently has a 350 merc with an IO. Thank you for all of your posts and wisdom on this board. Hope to see you out on the water. Tight lines! Josh |
Welcome aboard!

Welcome aboard MS. Capt'n! We've got a lot of "nuts in this barrel, but there is always room for at least two more! (we just of kinda stretch the barrel)
BTW, we don't have many MS. Capt'ns; if you haven't noticed already. But as Martha would say about having more like you, "It's a good thing!" |
Ha! I don't get it.... I'm a dude, not a MS. Haha

Welcome aboard Josh, and nice boat and location to use it!

Welcome aboard Josh ! How do you like your crows nest have contemplated doing one with out controls for awhile don't want to get stuck up there while everyone else fishes

I love the spotting tower. If and when I repower, I will run fly by wire controls up there. It's great when trolling offshore down here to spot weed lines.

Sweet ride!
I gotta admit I'm partial to I/Os in spite of needing the extra gearing and the dreaded gimbal bearing for the outdrive. The I/O 23 SF is really nice. Alpha or Bravo? What are the performance numbers? |

Thank you for the nice comments. I run at 3500rpm and that gets me a cruise of 30 knots. At 4500 rpm I get top end of 38 knots. I run a 14.5x19 prop. I love the heavy ride of my I/O. Cruising offshore of key west in 2-4 foot seas, I can still cruise at 25 knots. I just picked up the boat this past February from a guy down here in the keys. He brought it down from Virginia. It had a name burned into the gelcoat "summertime" with a home port of Yorktown, VA. I just got done restoring the gelcoat. It appears everything on the boat is original which I love.
