Serious Consideration and Contemplation 21 Moesly Extension
 

I said I would never personally restore or rebuild again.
For some unidentified reason I am very excited and drawn to rebuild another Moesly 21.
As I marvel at and study the hull over and over again, I contemplate a 3' hull extension.
I am told by a naval engineer that the current L/W ratio supports that idea.
The dilema is that I do not want to molest an original.

I'm going for it, just got back from visiting the girl , again.
Lets see if i can post pics and video.

Stretching a pop-off would be a cake walk..
To say the least it would start a feeding frenzie with all of us !
We have the talented people in our fold to accomplish this dream..

Brian, glad to see back up here and considering doing something with this hull. I don't know if I would cut that hull up being how limited and hard to find as they are. Popping the mold and configuring the extension into it sounds like it would be the way to go. Once you have the mold you can turn it into cash as it will be a good market fit as we both know. Plus I know I guy that would love to buy the original once you get the "pop" done.....lol

This one has been a long time in the making, love to see something progress on it....

Do you have Steve Matthews` contact info?
He was a protégé of Carl`s and is making Tribute 37`s.

He is using the VDR and a unique step they are trying to patent.
There is also an interesting ghetto 31 Bert mold pop over on thespurioustruth.

I just knew you would not be able to walk away from this.

Thank you CSC Family for your support and encouragement. You all are awesome and have been great to me. I can't believe I joined this site 10 years ago........
I saw the tribute stuff, stunning......the 25 appeared to have the shallow steps of the potter 23, the 37 looked like the deep steps of the Moesley 21. With the deep steps I don't believe the horizontals are needed, the 21 is already extremely efficient and nothing rides as smooth, so i don't want to screw with a hull bottom that i have a knowing provides an outstanding ride.
I am going for it, with all of the knowledge, lessons, and tweaks to be made from the last build, I'm going beefier and heavier because i have found the hull likes and appreciates that.
In any case, in the end,I will be set up to do both a 21 & 24, nothing gets molested or changed except the length and we all know no one complains about that enhancement.

I believe my new boat is cleverly named by my daughter which will be the "frigateaboutit".
She knows how significant the frigate bird is in offshore fishing. Next one may be "warbird"since that is the nickname.
