i had to make a scheduled/promised trip to Hilton Head, SC this past saturday, 1/19. we were to spend the night and return back to savannah on sunday AM. Many people do not understand how rough the ICW can actually simply because it is not in the ocean. this particular small passage is known as the Calibogue Sound, an open body of water that runs the ditch behind HH Island before connecting back into sheltered water. it was a solid 3 with some 4s, very close interval, tops blowing, and we had to take it on the chin. it was the first time i have ever ran the boat under such conditions. i posted a video on facebook on the classic seacraft owners sight. i had her full tab down and eatin! very impressed, although not a potter, the red headed step child (AKA Bass Pro Special) did amazingly well, solid,felt no issues of shaking, rattling, vibrations, etc. i do notice the t-top and console seemed to shake more than what i would like to see, something i will investigate. other than that, i just wanted to share this information with the group, and let you guys know where the video is, for any of those interested in watching. as usual, i will say that after watching the video multiple times, it does not do any justice to actually how rough it really was. the winds were solid 25 knots gusting way over 30, when this happened you could really feel her heel and yaw with these gusts. but truly amazed at how well the boat ran under such conditions. just outright nasty conditions for any vessel.

You are right there. I know the pass here where I am at in the Neuse River in NC can get really bad. The Neuse has the largest river mouth on the eastern side of North America and the mouth is close to 7 miles across which is open to the Pamlico sound. There are barrier islands blocking it from the ocean but open as the sound is sometimes it is hard to cross. Lots of people cross to fish big Drum in a certain area near the mouth and get trapped not able to return to the north side of the river. I've been out there with swells so bad you drop into gullies where all you can see is water above your head both sides and I've seen it where it was close interval chop with white water as well. Fishing these grounds is what made having a SeaCraft so attractive.

Console and t top may be shaking because the deck is not bonded to the stringers when the liner was put in..it was an issue I fixed on my 21 when I put the new tank in.

I'd love to see that video, but refuse to have anything to do with Facebook. Any possibility you could post that on this site or somewhere else on the internet, Utube, etc?
